lol, It is what it is. As soon as s/he started whining about virtue signaling (whatever that is), you came to mind. But a direct connection was too obvious.

Not upset at all- in fact, I'm somewhat amused that you're still playing the easily predictable role.

I get that- if you don't wear a mask regularly on trips away from the home, it's less likely to happen.

On the subject of the cray hole - i listened to this podcast on a drive yesterday about a Buzzfeed journo whose mother went full Q. Really fascinating, and quite scary.

It's interesting how Q is really like a flatpack ikea assembly of a bunch of other conspiracy stuff that was already out there - and the pandemic was tailor made to slot right in there.

Deprogramming of these people is likely impossible because they cut themselves off from any solid info sources (that all comes from the deep state).

Anecdotally, the english variant appears to be fast

Our daughter was with friends over a weekend (allowed under the one guest rule). They all tested negative on the saturday on rapid tests. By monday morning, the dad had symptoms and failed a rapid test, and then a followup PCR. He got the app alert that a close contact he had seen the previous thursday was positive. He ended up infecting his whole family, but strangely not our daughter who was with them for 24 hours including for sit down dinner etc. I think she was there slightly too soon.

But anyway - a Thursday - Monday timeline for him.

    English variant is super bad

In my case, it happens very frequently because I've gotten so used to the mask that I get in the car and start driving and don't even remember the mask is there *to* take off for a while. Did that just tonight, in fact.

Something I have found fascinating is the link in the UK between Brexit fanboi-ing and becoming a Lockdown/Covid sceptic.

Fascinating because Brexit fanbois reflexively pimp Boris Johnson, but in Lockdown/Covid sceptic mode, Boris and his ministers are Nazis

So in other words, Trumpy Boris actually has the Biden role in the UK. Recovering popularity due to the massive vaxx programme, but lots of grief from the cray hole

With 60% of their population vaccinated, Israel cases have dropped significantly.

What's happening in Brazil is horrible and tragic. Good thread here from Dr Eric Ding.
The numbers are catastrophic. As he wrote down in the thread "Brazil is like a Fukushima, it can put the whole world at risk”

    Speaking of predictable...

This is one of your dumber assumptions, and there have been many.

Also, they have roughly the same # of COVID cases as the US but 5 times as many deaths on a daily basis. Some of that is probably down to fewer getting tested in Brasil, but it shows some of the impact of the vaccine.

I have noticed that too (again with anecdotal evidence) that the younger, healthy people don't test positive even after being in situations where you'd think they would have caught the virus for sure.

    I have two theories:
    1) that younger people tend to be more social and take more risks and therefore may have already gotten infected previously and now have some level of natural immunity;
    2) that it is harder for young/healthy people to actually get infected.

Full stay-at-home order in place as of today. Our ICU capacity is full to the gills to the point that Sick Kids Hospital is giving beds to adults.

Couple hot spots to the north of where I am, the public school in my hood has had several cases too.

I’m in the next age cohort for vax elegibility, with the rollout picking up steam I’m hoping for a jab soon, though I’m glad my parents and aunt and uncle have had at least one jab - though my uncle is in Sunnybrook after a fall, and my dad is in limbo waiting for the specialist cardiologist to get back to him on the treatment for his specific condition.

Lots of anecdotal stories from friends of delays for non Covid related surgeries and our current Ford model is a total lemon, and everyone is bitter.

good for you. That could be because you have a lot in common with the population of whiny ass bitches that see being required to wear a mask in public as a serious, massive assault against their personal liberties, and are therefore predisposed to immediately remove it the very moment they’ve exited the area where the evil and stupid government requires them.

for the rest of us grownups....the masks are no big ********ing deal...to the point where we often forget about them. I will say I never forget when I am wearing my glasses...for obvious reasons.

I love how after realizing that acting like an ass leads them nowhere (except trouble), anti maskers invariably pivot towards the medical issue explanation.
And while I won't deny there may be valid reasons, medically, for people not having to wear masks, one would think that some kind of simple proof (official note from a doctor or some other valid document) could be produced.
Then again, if you have a medical reason not to wear a mask, can't imagine that making a scene is good for whatever ailment you are suffering from either...

    I think we've established that

    1. You don't need to wear a mask when you're in your car by yourself and
    2. Nobody normal gives a shit about anecdotal stories of people wearing masks when driving solo.
Is it just me, or is she dressed like a sister wife?

I don't get that reference, but given Rule 34, I don't think I should enter "sister wife" into a search engine at work.
