If you want a safe(ish) video on furries, Lindsey Ellis has two videos on a lawsuit on the subject. Shes a great documentarian and critic and she explains the whole subject very matter of factly. It's also funny that she was dragged into the lawsuit for commenting on it.
Hey...Papa mio was from Borgonovo and if any Italian is dissed it's always good to mention you have relatives in Sicily even if you don't. It tends to make them nervous! Mama mia's digs in Torre di Santa Maria.
many threads on BS go walkabout into god-knows-what territory .... but if there's an award for being WAY WAY WAY off topic for a few pages, this must be the winner.
IL's case numbers have flattened out but are still dropping slightly, today is down from a week ago and even more from two weeks to go, R is probably trending close to one so the drop is not really significant.
A few years ago I wandered by a hotel in Toronto that had all of these people dressed up in elaborate animal costumes. When I got home, I told my wife about it and said probably some kids entertainment but sure was fancy and couldn’t help but notice a bit of an edge. Then I looked up what was happening at the hotel and discovered it was a furry convention and quickly learned not for children.
My provincial government just confirmed they are extending the second shot interval to 16 weeks from today onwards. That's fir Pfizer, Moderna and AZ shots. They are basing this on loads of real world studies now coming out of the UK, Israel and our own provincial studies on first shot efficacy levels. Dr. Osterholm recently penned a letter to the CDC too advocating a similar strategy in the US. Get more people jabbed once now, versus waiting. The data seems to support this approach more and more.
I know this is the covid thread, but I'm not sure if you are talking about covid cases or furry cases.
I don't get it. Is it something like a Star Trek convention, where people dress up as their favourite Star Trekker?
This is still in recent memory for a lot of people in the service (and those who have since retired). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthrax_Vaccine_Immunization_Program
I was wondering if you meant IL COVID-19 cases or furry cases. I hope the former. Admittedly, the furries have dropped as well, as the article states. Hard to hold indoor conventions in a Pandemic (except for Republicans, than have at it!). Of course, then, that begs the question about Republican furry conventions? If they can have a golden idol of Tru*mp, then...? Could this be made into a furry costume? We have Sarah Palin already:
Unfortunately, that strategy is probably based on how to get to herd immunity the fastest rather than how to protect yourself and your family. I'm hoping I can get the JnJ (single shot) vaccine. Although I guess by the time my turn comes around there will be an over-supply and getting a second shot 3 weeks after the first won't be an issue.
A couple of years ago on a trip with some buddies. one friend stayed at a fancy hotel hosting a furry convention. One of the people with us, an ex-Marine, thought it was a Humane Society event. We had to tell him, he still didn't believe us, until we went to the hotel to get our friend.
A lot of you seem to be staying at hotels that coincidently have furry gatherings happening. Just saying....
More and more polling and research coming out to suggest people are sick and tired of the WFH situation. People are saying they feel disconnected and they hate how every meeting must be scheduled now. There is no ability to have those ad-hoc get togethers to talk through an issue. And, people are struggling with lack of separation from work and home.
