The preseason schedule for the Courage is starting to take shape. In addition to the game vs. Washington on March 8, there has been another game just announced - March 19 in Greensboro vs. Atlanta. http://www.carolinacourage.com/343325.html There's probably more games to come (I can't believe there would only be two) - hopefully someone will post those here when they're announced.
I had heard there are supposed to be 4, no source on that, just rumor, but that is what I have heard. Let me clarify, not from anyone at the Courage office. K~
Game against UNC According to a poster in the College Forum, UNC's schedule shows this: Mar 22 vs Courage at SAS stadium, 7pm

Just up on the team website: http://www.carolinacourage.com/343578.html Nice to see them bring the Fan Fest back. I went to the one last year, and the team really did a good job of it. I think everyone was excited for the season to start.
Courage Fan Fest This sounds like a great event. Is it open to the general public or only to Courage season ticket holders?
I'm sure it's open to the public. The one last year was...there were advertisments about it beforehand - that's how I found out about it!
Fan Fest Attendance So how many people came out for last year's event? The Spirit had a "Meet the Team" party at Torero Stadium mid-season and even though it was only open to season ticket holders, the crowd was huge for this event.
I'm not sure, and I wouldn't even hazard a guess, because I'm no good at estimating things like that. But it did seem well-attended...there were plenty of people around, especially when the team was introduced and signing autographs.
I would presume it is open to the public, what they did last year was open it up earlier for the season ticket holders and then everyone else an hour later.
Tryout players Finally, some word on tryout players in the Courage camp: As expected, Sherrill Kester did get an invite. After she was waived and not claimed, there really wasn't any reason not to invite her, since she lives in the area. Kester played (and scored) in the scrimmage against N.C. State. Also in camp is Tracy Milburn, who was waived by Washington, former Charge reserve goalkeeper Maite Zabala, and Meredith Flaherty, a former Florida Gator goalie.
We've got the roster! Pregame story about the Wilmington match: http://www.carolinacourage.com/345555.html No Prinz, Riise, Lehn, Boyd or Overbeck. Roberts and Slaton will play, then travel to Portugal after the game. At the bottom of the article is the preseason roster. 24 names on it - the 14 protected players plus these ten tryout players: Goalkeepers: Meghann Burke Meredith Flaherty Maite Zabala Defenders: Breanna Boyd Stacy Roeck Midfielders: Kelsey Carlson Sherrill Kester Dempsey Robin McCullough Heather Ragsdale Forward: Kate Gordon
Re: We've got the roster! Nice to finally see who is actually on the Courage preseason roster. No real surprises here, but I see that Amy Kofoed and Erin O'Grady who were both at the mini camp in October are not on this roster.
