    Norwegian Toppserien Update

All of the former Courage Norwegians were victorious in yesterday's "Toppserien" action. Unni's club Trondheims-Ørn defeated the Oslo area club Røa 3-0 to move Ørn to the top of the "Toppserien" table. Bente Nordby was starting in goal again against the Bergen area club Arna-Bjørna as Kolbotn recorded their second straight 6-1 victory to move them into a second place tie with Asker two points behind Ørn. Hege Riise's new club Team Strømmen recorded their first win of the season 2-0 at home and are now in 6th place in the league with 4 points.

    Week 5 Norwegian Toppserien Update

All of the former Courage Norwegians were victorious again in today's "Toppserien" action. Unni's club Trondheims-Ørn stayed on top of the "Toppserien" table with a 2-0 victory over Gro Espeseth's old club team Sandviken. Former Boston Breakers player Ragnhild Gulbrandsen scored the first goal for Ørn. Bente Nordby recorded an impressive 2-0 shutout over Oslo-area rival Asker to help move Kolbotn into sole possession of second place 2 points behind Ørn. Team Strømmen, had an impressive 6-0 victory on the road over Arna-Bjørna, which moves Hege Riise's new club into the top half of the "Toppserien" table for the first time this season. Hege didn't score any goals today, but I would be very surprised if she didn't provide the assist on several of Team Strømmen's goals today. :)

Former Courage Players on Norwegian National Team

In an important Euro2005 qualifying match played yesterday in Wezep, Netherlands, three former Courage players played important roles in Norway's 2-0 victory over the Netherlands. Bente Nordby had another solid match in goal for Norway and Hege Riise started and played well for Norway in the midfield. Unni Lehn also started in the midfield along with former Courage International Discovery prospect Solveig Gulbrandsen and Unni scored the second goal that helped secure the victory for Norway.

Luckenbill played the second half of today's USWNT game against Japan. She had one fantastic save and some other saves -- she looked good! Even when left exposed by her team. It was nice to see her in action.
