Drinking, drugs, arrests mar Country Fest concert

Foxborough police took almost 500 people suspected of drinking too much into protective custody and arrested around 100 at this weekend's Country Fest music concert at Gillette Stadium.

The concert, which featured headliners Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney, drew more than 110,000 people, but also turned into a big headache for police.

Thousands of concertgoers took over the parking lots for tailgating and drinking.

Foxborough Police took 466 people into protective custody because they were intoxicated.

Those arrested were charged with drug possession, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, assault and battery and assaulting a police officer.

They will appear in Wrentham District Court to face the charges throughout the week.

Sure, they were drunk..rowdy and made complete asses of themselves.

But, can you even imagine the $$ that Kraft raked in?? More than enough to pay triple OT to incompetent police and have plenty left over to give Briggs a giant bonus..come bonus time!

I am pretty sure in 17 yrs of Revs games, that there has not been 101 total arrests or 466 thrown into protective custody

So.... 1/2% of drunken redneck country music fans get detained at a concert at foxborough. How many drunken redneck country music fans have attended revs matches over the years???

101 arrests? An opportunity to ass kick fans? Ruin a good time? Briggs probably still has a hard on.

Those Country Music Hooligans aren't the real fans of Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney! They are a disgrace, a binch of drunken louts just out for a day of aggro. I heard the Alan Jackson Firm got into a big row with Taylor's Swiftboaters. They had pre-planed their melee, using cell phones and social media to outwit (!) the local police and have a go.

Shame on them! These people are giving Country fans a bad name, and I bet most of these idiots couldn't even name the bass player in their "favourite" band. Lock 'em up and throw away the key, I say!

Funny how people on this board many of whom I suspect "celebrate diversity" make such ignorant comments about fans of a music they don't like.

I am more of a classic rock fan but I was there. I also saw 2 US jerseys.

As far as the apperance of the women there, most are nothing like the ones that sit in the fort, they wear makeup and have feminine haircuts.

A friend of mine once said the reason soccer turns offs a lot of people are the fans and their self rightous, hipster attitutes. I tend to agree. Give me an NHL fan any day of the week. They spend more time enjoying the game and less time making "demands" from owners online in their studio apartments.

Do you read the SOSH board? The level of salary cap obsession in their hockey forum would make a Yale economist tell them to get a life. I agree with the basic point that stereotyping fanbases of any kind is a bad thing. I've met tons of fans of various niche hobbies IRL (sports, collecting, etc.) who are completely unlike the common pop cultural portrayal.

Go to HF Boards just saying. Were you around Boston from 1975-2007? If you think soccer fans are bad should have seen Bruins fans towards Jacobs

BTW I am one of biggest NHL fans on here

So you follow up calling us out for being ignorant and self righteous with an equally ignorant and self righteous comment (bolding mine)?

    I don't get people sometimes.

Yeah, hi. 16 year Revs STH and 15 year Bruins STH. I'm not a hipster in any way. And I certainly am not making generalizations about any fan base based on what their appearance is, male or female.

But feel free to make hypocritical comments all you want.
