Countess traded to the Fire for a conditional 2005 pick (I assume it will be a #1 unless he fails to start). Of course, the implication for DCU is that pretty much guarantees that Warren stays with DCU and isn't traded to Chicago.
Not surprised, because Countess is good and was available. But it is odd. United trades most with the Metros. The Fire trade often with the Burn. The Quakes trade with the Galaxy. I mean really, MLS has no problems trading amongst rivals. Congrats to Countess, who IMHO, will become a very good keeper and can push his way into the full Nats setup. I know that Warren is good, but when Countess is on his game, he's in a different league than Warren. I think Chicago made the right choice. And I'm happy to have BOTH Rimando and Warren at United. -Digital
