I support the team. I live in Philly and if they get a team no more driving two hours for a DC United game. well maybe not as much. if you want more info. go to http://www.sonsofben.net/Home/Home.html
Done...and the 'no' vote is significantly leading. I know these things' impacts are questionable, but it's time to return to ballot stuffing mode, gang. Get in there and vote 'yes'. Now. Suggestion, Eastern Bear...if you can still edit, change the title to make it very clear what we want people to do.
Hey, if you guys aren't there we've got to drive over three and a half hours to visit those who we hate. It's really all about us. And I can't wait for Garber's announcement that you've got a team...and that one's for your sake. And I just posted a request for support on the RSL forum. They damned well know what it's like to be confronted with half/assed, half/truth bull-shit surveys put forth by those pretend journalists that populate the TV news stations. Plus, as we've learned in goal of the week voting, they're damned good at stuffing ballots.
I don't really give shit about Philly or even less about DC people changing club, but it's another close away game so I'm in
I voted but it is such a ridiculously misleading poll its not even funny. The state is barely funding anything and even the $s being thrown around are for the entire project - not just the stadium. If they changed it to - "Should the state fund a soccer stadium as well as grcoery store (which the area doesn;t have), retail/commercial space, and infrastructure?" I think the answer might be drastically different. As it is you have the combination of soccer haters and government spending haters as well as the uneducated jumping all over this one.
It won't be much of a rivalry if this is true: Former MetroStars president and general manager Nick Sakiewicz won't be the general manager of the proposed Philadelphia MLS franchise, but he indicated Thursday he will play a bigger role with the club. ...
That's like giving your gas station credit card to an arsonist... everything will die if Nick touches it.
By the way the poll does set a cookie so you can vote as many times as you want -- I just gave them 10 yes votes
I just put this on my blog to garner a few more votes. Last I checked, the No's were still crushing the Yes's.
I'll give them a YES vote, then watch how fast they forget and we're fighting like cats & dogs with them once they're in the league.....wow, something to look forward to!
These things DO have dubious legitimacy, but that's all in the eye of the beholder. Who knows what computer illiterate city official is going to look at this and say "oh, I guess we shouldn't pay for this after all?" I'm following BBB's lead and deleting my cookies and refreshing the page to vote again. If you're not familiar with it, find where your cookies are stored (Firefox has a "show cookies" button in the tools>Options window), then search for any cookies with "nbc10" in the name. Delete those, refresh your window and revote. That's what I'm doing, and I think I've added about twenty votes to the site so far. It would go much faster if I had some help!
That's why I asked the RSL folks to join in. I've always assumed they have that bot built, since they do so well at getting their players to be the goal of the week winners
The problem is that this same conversation is also taking place on bigbaseball.com bigtreehuggers.com bigsilentmajority.com bigxenophobia.com etc etc ...
