As Trezeguet is 3 years younger and is only about around 60 goals behind

Plus also I think Trez plays a bit more than D.P, I dont mean just injury but also on the pitch more as well

I'd say it is possible but he could never achieve the Juve legend status of Alex. Alex IS White and Black. Just cut him and you'd see!!!!

Throughout his career I always kind of resented Alex Del Piero and was more of a Baggio & Mancini fan in that number 10 role. I must say however, that he seems to be getting better with age and at the moment should be playing constantly. I almost feel sorry for him when Iaquinta comes on for him. I like Vincenzo a lot but I just wish Rainieri could find a way to have them all (along with Nedved & Trezrguet) coexist

Well as of today Del Piero has 148 Serie A goals and Trezeguet has 112 Serie A goals.
I don't Trezeguet will be at JUVE longer than Del Piero actually and it would take two seasons as good as this one from Treze plus Alex not scoring another goal to see him overtake Del Piero for Serie A goals.

Overall, I don't think he'll pass him either. Del Piero is good for at least 10 more goals for next 2-3 seasons. So add 20 to Alex's tally would mean Treze would need some thing link 80 goals to catch Del Piero. That would mean 4 seasons of 20 goals. I just don't think it'll happen. I think this will be Del Piero's record for at least a decade!

    1. There is NO way the dirigenza lets a non-Italian beat an Italian myth's record

    2. He may not even be with Juve next term (he's being lusted over by the Spanish)

    3. Even if he stays, he's probably only good for, at most, 3 more seasons than Ale. He won't score 20 goals per in the last 3 years of his career.

As I mentioned in the Euro thread, I think as long as Terzeguet keeps his scoring up, they can't get rid of him. Juventus traditionally burns players out but they also keep their stars as long as they are performing at a high level. Del Piero is still going strong as is Trez. He could end up playing for Juve for a few more years.

Its a wonder that Nedved is hanging on for another year...Its good to see Juve pulling a Milan playing the over 35 year old players...

He should break it, not if Del Piero has another fantastic year this year though.

yes he will, he's a way better goal scorer then ADP. plus the way trezeguet plays will allow him to play longer then ADP.

Del Piero is strictly a club player. He is better than an above average club player on a big club like Juventus, but he never has been a national team protagonist. I had actually hoped he would pull thru this year at the Euros but its always the same old excuse with Alex and the national team. Having said that I think he still has a few more years at Juventus. Trézéguet is still young enough and even if he isn't, if he continues to score.....what can you say about him?

Now Trezeguet has retired nationally, he should be more fresh now and he's only 30

Trez has been fresh for some time as Domenech hardly called him for qualifiers. I think Donadoni did Del Piero the same favor by not calling him either.

Well he probably wouldn't have retired but Domenench doesn't like him so when he was resigned on as coach, Tez knew he was done with France.

trez has pretty much been a retired international for the past 2 years.

but he did say he'd be willing to play for france again if domenech is gone.

with that said, if trez finishes his career at juve, then yea, i can see him breaking the record. but it'll be tough because ADP keeps going strong and keeps scoring as well.
