I guess he didn't care enough about Mutiny (I know he showed some interest)...or maybe he doesn't care for Anschutz, Hunt, and what it takes to be part of their little club...still, never hurts to have big $$ guysin U.S. like the sport (not enough yet, dats fer sure)

BTW- I think Allen is really (the next) guy to court....great soccer market, he's got the stadium (needs date)..already owns a team that loses lots of money (so he's not adverse), and he's willing to spend big time bucks on long shots (Charter)..too bad he doesn't have as many billion as before, but I believe he is still richer than Anschutz/Hunt put together...

    Lot of fits there.....

The JailBlazers? The Seahawks don't lose money I don't believe.

He'd basically be another Hunt. Meaning he'd have control of stadium revenues, concessions etc. I imagine being the controlling interest of Seahawks Stadium would mean a fairly good lease deal don't you think? I think Seattle (owned by Paul Allen) would be one of the safer bets to at least not lose money right from the start. I agree on your point when it comes to helping absorb the other clubs losses though.

Yeah, the big sticking point will be (getting Allen, et al wanting to ) share in other teams losses, although as MLS gets closer to break-even, this becomes less big of an issue (come to think of it, maybe this is why Hunt made decision for Southlake, etc.....)

'Jailblazers' as you put them have huge operating losses currently...although things are not as ridiculous as 1-2 yrs. ago...

I figured it had to be 'blazers, NFL teams, even the pathetic ones like Cincy still make money because of revenue sharing and TV money.

Every NFL franchise is a money making proposition. Even Dan Snyder, though he paid $750 million for the Redskins, made money last year. Even Cincy made money. Best TV contract in sports.

Cincy likely makes the most money because Mike Brown is such a tightwad.

My hometown team is slotted to lose 100 million dollars this year. This is worse that a couple of years ago. That figure is not a typo.

I imagine the Jailblazers' legal fees take up a large chunk of that. ;)

I thought they unloaded Kemp's, couple other big salaries in off-season?

I don't expect Allen will be as loss-friendly as past going forward, however, he'll probably always be OK with small/moderate losses...
