Let's say for the sake of argument that I'd like Klinsmann to be fired, then die of leprosy while driving off a cliff on highway 1 with Jonathan crying in terror beside him. What are the chances that we could lose Tuesday and still qualify for the next round? I have to assume the players would like a change too - and might have expected it by now.
Assuming everyone beats SVG and we beat T&T, we would be dead unless Guatemala wins in Trinidad and we maintain our goal difference over T&T.
If Guatemala beats U.S. and I assume that Trinidad beats St. Vincent, that leaves the point totals as Trinidad 10 Guatemala 9 USA 4 with everyone having 2 games lest. next games after that are St. Vincent vs. U.S. and Trinidad vs. Guatemala. final round is U.S vs. Trinidad and Guatemala vs. St. Vincent US would then absolutely have to win its last 2 games to get to 10 points. One way for U.S. to qualify if U.S. loses to Guatemala again is if Guatemala beats Trinidad, so that 2 U.S. wins in its last 2 games would put Trinidad and the U.S. equal at 10 points, and hope that U.S. wins tiebreaker. First tiebreaker is goal differential in the group. Under these scenarios, U.S. would have reasonable shot to win that tiebreaker because they are currently +3 and Trinidad is currently only +2. Trinidad is home against Guatemala though in round 5, and if Trinidad beats Guatemala in round 5, then U.S. would need help of St. Vincent beating Guatemala in the last round of games (round 6).
Without St. Vincent taking a point off Guatemala or Trinidad and Tobago, the only chance is if Guatemala defeats Trinidad and Tobago away. In other words, it's over if Guatemala takes 3 points tomorrow.
Our job is to win out the three remaining games this Pre-Hex. Jurgen can't, won't do squat for the USMNT. It's time for the players to go out on the field and set out their own game, and to hell with the gibbering narcissist on the sidelines.
