Just read a report on the RTE news website which says that Jimmy Magee could broker a deal between Roy and Mick ....I kid you not :)

Anyway it says that Roy will play for Ireland again if Jimmy can get Mick to initiate proceedings.

How does Jimmy command such respcet from Roy ? Could the memory man be the answer ?

that story first appeared in the papers around the 8th of september. got a bit of a shock when i first saw it but there seems very little behind it.

i think jimmy was quoted as saying that he was friendly with roy and mick. roy said he wanted to play for ireland. 2+2=5

    Barna,

I saw a video of The Late Late Show when I got back from Moscow. Keane was supposed to be on, but with his operation, they went for Dunphy. Surprisingly though, the Memory Man was on too. In fairness he did speak a lot of sense in his interview. He pointing out all the positives that he has seen of Keane in his time, but also said that he disagreed with how Keane behaved in Saipan, and somewhat since.
Keane has respect for him, he pointed out that he always got an interview with him for RTE despite the fact that other stations hadn't a chance and that Keane was always eager to do them with him.
Had I not seen the tape of the show I would have laughed off your 'website report', but having heard what Magee had to say - he said he'd love to be able to help too - I wouldn't rule it out. My only reservation would be that some hack journalist had nothing to write, saw the same tape as me and decided to do a piece based on what Magee said on the show alone, with no follow up!

There was a good piss take on dangerhere about it, I think it's last weeks issue, but if it works then it can do no harm.
