Well, could any OFC nation that isn't New Zealand do it? Tahiti made last year's Confed's cup, albeit conceding 24 goals in 3 matches against Spain, Uruguay & Nigeria. When, if ever, do you see such a thing happening?

The day the OFC gets 1 guaranteed berth to the WC and New Caledonia stuns New Zealand.

I don't know, it would take a massive upset, even if FIFA increased from 0.5 to 1 (which I don't see happening unless they increase to 48 teams).

Never. The population pool is so small, and the investment in football is minimal. Not to mention Rugby is extremely popular in bigger island nations.

Yes. But only if it's the Rugby World Cup.

Well it's in the plans for a 48 team competition now, and soon there will be plenty of upsets and thrashings in that tournament until the quarter finals when the top teams put their best in the starring line up.
