Former A.C. Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta sat with MetroStars GM Nick Sakiewicz in a private box, fueling speculation that he would sign. Costacurta insisted that negotiations "just got started. It's impossible to say if it's at a good point or bad point. " http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/more_sports/story/9344p-8788c.html AND "Our basic problem is that we're missing so many players to injury," Zambrano said. "The team needs a jolt, and I think Costacurta can provide it. He can help anyone." http://www.nytimes.com/2002/08/08/sports/soccer/08MLSS.html So.....
when entering the stadium, its to the grandstand on the right at the top- part of the press box. there are 4 private boxes i believe. btw, i don't recall seeing it here (but i am sure it was mentioned), i think tony adams, former arsenal player, would have been a great addition to the team to help the defense out.
Costacurta is like a thousand years younger. If they are bent on getting an older veteran, at least get one who can still play ball. I believe the answer to that is Sforza. A great player, with a lot of class. He was recently released by Bayern Munich. He's 32, but he definately has a couple of good years of soccer left in him. Definately for MLS.
anything is better than Jolley costacurta can be 94 years old, walk with a cane, or better yet, have only one leg and he could still be considered an improvement over anyone on the Metros back line, Teddy included.
Fulham has walked away from Franco Baresi...so it looks like Costacuarta doesn't have any ties to Fulham...thus opening the door for us. Our defense is horrible but signing an SI to lose an SI is just another mistake and yet another example of the Metros jumping on the panic button. http://www.tribalfootball.com/august/englishnews7090802.html
