Bryan Ruiz scored his 7th goal in 11 matches in the Eredivisie in FC Twente's 4-0 win against FC Groningen. Bryan Ruiz is tied in 2nd place with teammate Blaise N'Kufo in the scoring table with 7 goals behind Uruguayo Luis Suarez who has 15 for Ajax. FC Twente is leading the table in Holland just ahead of Ajax and PSV.

Celso Borges scored in Fredrikstad`s 5-0 win against Lyn .

    League is finished :

    Number 6 Start (Bolanos)
    Number 14 Fredrikstad (Borges)

Fredrikstad in playoff against Sarpsborg (Div2) to avoid relagation.

Kongsvinger (Brenes) number 3, in playoff against for promotion to Div 1.

If he keeps scoring and helping FC Twente stay ahead of the Eredivisie and can help them advane far in the Europa League he has a strong chance to move to a big club. I think the best thing for him is to play this season and at least half of the next for FC Twente...but i don't see FC Twente selling him...teams would have to probably pay double of what FC Twente paid for him which was $7 million.

Esteban Alvarado will travel today to Holland to take his physical and then sign a 3 year deal with Dutch Powerhouse AZ Alkmaar if everything goes as planned.

Hope this deal goes through...but i dont understand why Alvarado will be staying another 6 months with Saprissa since Keylor Navas isn't joining Albacete until June...i'd rather have Alvarado be a backup in Holland then be a backup in our super powerhouse Costa Rican league:rolleyes:. I guess the only good thing is that both Navas and Alvarado will be called up for the NT against Argentina and France without any problems.

Alvarado talks about his soon to be move to AZ and his dream playing for Manchester United in the future.

U-20 Defender Roy Smith will be trying out for 1st division Polish side Gliwicki Club.

Carlos in good form, 2 assists and 1 goal. Marvin Angulo with the assist on Carlos' goal with a lovely flick with the outside of his boot.

Having only come on for the last 15 minutes, marvin angulo played the next day with Melbourne's youth league team, scored this cracker:

After 3 or more months of transfer saga limbo, he's only played a couple of games for us but his touch and movement have got people here excited.

Also in Tico-related A-League news, Steven Bryce has signed for Brisbane.

Still don't know how Carlos wasn't called up for the matches against USA or Uruguay even though he had a bad match against Mexico but everyone else did too. Glad to see Carlos continue having success in Australia...hope Angulo has similar success since he is still very young and could think about a move to Europe in the future if he bulks up a bit and can play well consistently (something he didn't do in Costa Rica). Marvin has a really nice outside shot so it shouldn't be surprising if he ends up being a Hernandez Jr....his trouble is his consistency and being really really skinny.

As for Steven Bryce....i love the guy for what he did with our NT and Alajuelense a few years back when he was really good...but he has had so many injuries in recent years i don't think he'll be much help for Brisbane...Hope im wrong though and Bryce can help Brisbane but if people are expecting him to be Hernandez-like it won't happen.
