A nice win...but we really suck when it comes to counter attacks....we should have at least scored 5 goals but our finishing and passing was horrible on the last touch. At least we got the win which we really needed and our goal difference is now negative 2...now we need at least a draw against Czech Republic to advance to the 2nd round.

Very disappointed in Marcos Urena...i expected him to be our star but has been very disappointing so far.

Better than Harold Wallace :D...i also think Herrera is not a RB...but i think Simoes will be playing a 3-5-2 system so Herrera would fit fine as a RW. And yes its great to see Rolo back!...hope he can make a difference...lets remember he is not the same player from years back...but he's much better than Saborio or Ledezma at finishing off easy chances at goal.

Hernandez, Azofeifa, Miller, Segares and Rodney Wallace should be on the team...they can easily replace Barrantes, Seravalli, Junior Diaz, Sequiera, and Montero.

    U-20 World Cup

Costa Rica 2 Czech Republic 3

Costa Rica qualifies to the 2nd round...but in a disappointing way IMO...we lost a match were we should have won. The team is good at creating chances to score...but just like all the other Costa Rican teams...we suck when it comes to actually scoring a goal. Our defense was solid until the last 10 minutes of the match where we allowed 2 goals to lose the match. I still think this team is good enough to beat Egypt...but it will be tough since they are the home team. We should be much stronger in the midfield with David Guzman returning from suspension.

Borges and Seravalli out with injury
    http://www.mediotiempo.com/futbol/i...5/simoes-con-dos-ausencias-obligadas-ante-tyt

Borges is a key player for u guys! and i wanted to know what do u guys think of Rene Simoes as your coach?? and about his call up, who deserved to be called up but wasnt?

Im suprised to not see Carlos Hernandez and Sunsing, i got confused with the call ups because i though this was it and Sunsing is in it but i just realized it was a trial for all of them

I wasn't so convinced at first...but after kicking Gilberto Martinez off the team for acting like a superstar and ditching the team to go to playa tambor...i got respect for him. I've been wanting to see Martinez on the NT for a long time now but what he did was messed up unless he has a really good excuse.

Hernandez and Sunsing should've been called up...they would be good subs.

    U-20 World Cup

    Costa Rica 2 Egypt 0

Fuk yeah!!...Costa Rica played a great organized game and beat the host of the World Cup. It's the first time any of our NT's makes it to the quarterfinals. Now we will play the winner between Venezuela and UAE. Glad to see one of our teams do well:cool:

What, is Venezuela a world powerhouse now? I'd be more afraid of Australia or Egypt (esp at home), but then again, I haven't been watching this U20 WC.

And, by the way, who put you up to that dispicable sig?

Ouch. I'd hate to have that as my sig. As an American AND a Tico, that sig just isn't possible for me. Then again, I never would've made a bet with such high stakes.

Bad bet to lose, my friend. But, I respect you for manning up and putting that sacrilege as your sig. Must be tough to stomach, but on the other hand, your country's automatic berth in the world cup (first time, right?), which seems highly likely at this point, should help cure any of your nausea. ;)
