Diosa back with the Cosmos. I can't believe it, Good think Gio treats his players well. If the Cosmos had a sh*t coach I don't think Szetela, Diosa, Maurer and Ayoze would have resigned.
Serious question do you guys think that the most recent acquisitions Amauri, Marquez are "Raul/Senna" type acquisitions?
Financially, I hope not. Cosmos should not realistically expect to average more than 5K at MCU this year; which while an improvement over Hofstra, it still shows their financial limitations. As players for the team Amauri replaces Arrango and Marquez for Orozco. With all the other returning players I think the team will play about as well as last year.

I think they will try and fill that team leader role, probably not the same type of players. Amauri is more of a pivot like a true 9, Raul played more of a distributing role. Senna was a plug in the middle and pulled the strings from his position, not sure what kind of player Marquez is.

The Cosmos have added Canadian CB Dejan Jackovic and Argentine midfielder Emmanuel Ledesma. The squad is at 23 players and has quality throughout, which is good, except as an NASL team I'm wondering if the payroll needs to be so high. I'm also wondering how many which ways the minutes are going to be spread out. While it's a great problem to have in the team is it worth while financially? The team is going to be very competitive but it would probably be just as competitive if 2 or 3 of the signing were college players like Indy just signed instead of the more experienced and expensive pros [not to single out todays signings but I'm looking at all the signings and wondering]. I'm thinking that playing at MCU they're going to average around 5k and how much revenue, 80 - 100k/game? Is the payroll appropriate to be competitive AND financially solvent for more than four years?

It all started with the Brooklyn Italians of the NPSL, where he starred as a midfielder for his hometown club. At the same time he was working through the ranks at St. Francis Brooklyn.

SocTakes says he's likely to sign along with Gaizka Toquero. Sees the rumored Totti signing as unlikely but with truth that they are testing the waters. https://www.soctakes.com/2017/06/02/ny-cosmos-three-strikers-one-striker/
I would think Toquero, a La Liga veteran, is the better player. He looks like the kind of finisher needed to pair with Ledesma up front. This leads to another point; I love Restrepo but I don't see him as a forward [does he lead the league in offsides?] as much as a winger. Paired with Richter on the right side should open the field; especially with Ayoze and Marquez on the left. There should be plenty of quality chances for the guys up front.
Are you sure about totti going to Miami? I heard Paolo Maldini on Sunday in an interview on Rai's Che Tempo Che Fa and all he said regarding Totti was that Francesco sent him the golden commemorative shoe. that was it.
well I guess that's clear enough, but I heard that things got more complicated because chinese are trying to lure with with an offer hard to refuse. we will see....about Cosmos, they should for sure solve first Amauri's matter, and talking about Totti, are we sure that he could play at high level in the Nasl? New York or Miami it would be a good return of image for the league but what about his real contribution on the field? He's 41 now....
what else could we say....I am really waiting for news about new players coming....damn...too bad Cosmos Country stopped coverage but I can't blame them
For the Cosmos, resigning Ledesma and Marquez very big news. Both are quality players, along with Ayoze, they are the best players I see in the squad. There's something more though. These guys could move on, meaning back to Europe, but they're choosing to stay. Gio is a quality coach and I think he is a big reason why they're staying. I'm hoping Rocco, the owner, is a part of their decision too. The club went through chaos last off season; putting things right, creating an environment where players want to be, players of this quality, is vital for continuing and growing the club.
Good way to open up the account, fortunately for him, the ref Missed Vranijcans push of PR defender to create space to get the goal.
Lucky resigns with the Cosmos, I'm continued to be surprised with former players returning. Playing 1st division Finnish soccer, might be considered a 'step-up' from the NASL. http://www.nycosmos.com/news/2017/06/20/striker-lucky-mkosana-returns-to-the-ny-cosmos Good re-signing, I guess he will be Amauri's replacement should Amauri officially leave the club.
