They really want people distracted. The question is why?

The people on the state don't deserve demise because a politician is being controlled by his financial backers...

It would be one thing if they had video of people just doing whatever like the beaches in Florida or Mardi Gras.

I just can't wait for these same slimeballs to try to buy Neymar in the summer.

The fallout and reaction from their entire organization after they had to take a hammer blow paycut will almost be worst losing La Liga before it even starts.

Again, nobody is celebrating. Just using data to highlight that he was wrong. The lockdown strategy is clearly working, which essentially means that any unnecessary delays in implementing a lockdown is like playing Russian roulette.

Posters from US, how would you rate Trumps handling of the Coronavirus crisis? I read a lot of criticism but it's hard to know the real situation without living there.

Embarrassing beyond belief. Be glad that you're far away. Its one cringe-worthy speech after the next, filled with ignorance, misinformation and blame towards others.

The below meme sums it up nicely, I think. Difficult to say if his actions had any negative impact. Though its probably easier to say that if the country had a leader, that person would've had a positive effect (as with most things in life).

I'll admit he did get one thing right: cancelling flights from Europe at a fairly early stage.

In terms of messaging ... absolutely horrible. When he stays on script it's not terrible lately although he continues to be a horrible speaker. But he often goes off script tapping himself on the back or making nonsensical comment. When it comes to Q/A it's a shit fest of berating any reporter that asks a question he deems to be ill intentioned. As petty as ever.

As for actions ... he tried to downplay the initial threat for political gain. Shot himself on the foot but for his followers it doesn't matter. He is a master of flipping things around for his base. Initially he said there were only 12 cases, the spread was contained, China was very helpful and transparent, and we had the best system to deal with it. A few days (and thousand cases) later, he inherited an antiquated system, China lied, and keeping deaths around 100k would be a good job done by him.

The initial development of the CV test was botched by the CDC resulting in delays while the messaging was that everything was rosy. The Gov. took too many days to allow private sector and Universities to develop their own tests. They could have removed that red tape faster accelerating testing. Development of the test started in mid Jan and was only widely distributed by mid March.

The shortage of PPE and ventilators is not really his fault, but using commercial distributors to take care of getting them to states and hospitals is a dubious move. States and hospitals at least initially bidding against each other for supplies. Instead he should have tasked the military with identification of hotspots and distribution as they have the logistical capability to do so. There is probably no doubt some of his connections are making money out of this distribution scheme.

One thing he got right was the travel ban from Wuhan .. which Democrats might have had a problem doing it that soon because of PC. Although I am not sure how much that actually helped.

Honestly it depends on the audience.

There are some who don't care what he does he will forever be right.

I think it is objective to say the USA was ill-prepared for this, especially when Trump has been saying proven falsehoods about it, misleading the public consistently

As bad as he is, I am still waiting for opinions who could have done better in this situation. Biden, Sanders? Hillary?

I think anyone that would have taken this seriously from the start would have done better but that’s just me.

Sadly Bernie is out, now it’s Biden... meh. Just like last election, no real good candidate appeals to me.

    That's an understatement.

We weren't only unprepared we made light of it just weeks ago. We have a President who describes himself as a cheerleader and expects to be worshipped as a demigod.

Marca article about how the negotiations went

    - Club has 2 plans: save 50M if season resumes, or save 100M if season doesn't resume.
    - 10% cut in first case, 20% in the second.
    - Request wasn't understood by everyone, so Ramos stepped in.
    - El Capitan was supported by Zidane, Fede, Modric, Tibo, Benzema and Lucas Vazquez.
    - Eventually everyone agreed.
    - Negotiations lasted 5 days.
    - Club is very strong economically but they fear the situation may last a long time, so they are preparing for it.
    - Club plans to avoid ERTE.

    Yeah, no thanks. Hard decline.

What is it with people and loving extremes? Ugh.

They wouldn't have downplayed the threat that's for sure. More likely would have gotten the Federal Government more involved from the start. But given the nature of the virus and how it spreads and multiple entry of points in the US along with the volume of influx from abroad, the result might not have been that different.

Bernie isn't extreme by European standards.

The US isn't Europe and the extremes he is proposing would harm the country.

Again, I don't get why people gravitate to extremes. Bernie is exterme no differently than Trump. Just polar opposites.

I have 0 doubt your (and the worlds) hospitals and healthcare would be in a better state with Bernie as president. Everyone would be better prepared to take on this pandemic.

I don't see how Bernie is extreme but i'm not in the US so you guys know and understand best what's good and bad for you better than me.

We don't have to tank our economy and punish entrepreneurs and business owners to provide a better system.

Again we are not Europe; what works for you works for you.

Bernie is a no go and thank God he will never be President. I have had enough on extreme leaders. We need centralization which combines both ideologies under a foundation of regulated capitalism.

I am a Canadian citizen living in the US and I dont think his ideas are extreme lol. Lots of what he is proposing is how the US was like before the Reagan years, yet somehow the rhetoric around him makes it seem like he is Karl Marx.

Yeah, that's BS even if it was copied out of an Economy 101 text book. Its not like the US doesn't have socialism - the socialist parts are just in different sectors (not health and education, obviously, because pfff who needs that?). I mean.... having 11 aircraft carriers, really? No other country has more than 2 (and that country is a friend). Talking about "extreme".

The sad part about this pandemic (apart from the deaths) is that the big corporations will get by. Partly because of their size but also because of the unearmarked hand-outs they'll get from government in addition to the usual tax relief that they always get. Its just socialism piled on top of more socialism. [While small businesses will get crushed!]

Why do people keep conflating "social" with "socialism"? It is really fascinating to see this trend of support for Socialism spreading around the West. Bizarre really.

Meanwhile, good old Bernie has again made a fellatio on DNC and stepped aside for Biden. Honestly, elections will be pure gold regardless of what happens.
