I love Convey as a player, but do we really want a player from a club team that hasn't scored off a corner kick since 2002 taking all of the national team's corners? Seriously. It's kinda like letting the Dutch (i.e. Earnie Stewart) take penalty kicks.
I thought he sent in a lot of dangerous crosses. And didn't Marco take most if not all of DC's corners before this year?
From the TV, it looked like most of our corners were the "throw it in the mixer" variety. Aside from the Pope header at the keeper and Twellman's miss, did we have any chances off of our, what, 16 corners?
In Convey's defense he did take the free kick that led to the goal, which was similar in location and distance to a corner kick.
convey does fine on corners. he served in some fine balls last night and he served the free kick which lead to the twellman header and then was put away by pope. he has constantly found the head of his own players on corners, donovan wasn't so lucky, think back to last year and convey found bocanegra a few times for goals off of corner kicks.
