I heard some guy on the radio suggest that Corner kicks should be taken from where the ball went out, if intentionally kicked out by a defender. Only if a forward kicks the ball off a defender would it be taken from its regualar corner spot. What do you think? In my opinion not a totally horrible Idea. Maybe if the closest you could take it was from the corner of the penalty box or the small box. Maybe if the 3 corners (normal, PK box and small box) were used it may add a little excitement to CK's which 95% of the time turn into nothing.
No. Defenders are having a tough enough time of it anyway. Every new rule tweak further favours the attacking side. The physical side of defending is being squeezed out, the offside rule is getting sillier. Corner kicks are great from where they are. Sure most don't come to anything, but would it be really all that great if a goal came from 50% of them? I'd suggest not.
well my team couldn't score from a corner if we were allowed to take it from the goal line, so I doubt it'd make any difference. I don't know though. I suppose it'd have to be a bit like the short corner from field hockey - after all, what'd you do with shots that went over the bar?
