There are now 3 Copa Tejas competitions for the pro soccer teams in Texas.
    https://copatejas.com/

    COPA TEJAS - DIVISION 1
This is for the MLS teams in Texas.

The inaugural Copa Tejas - Division 1 can be decided this week or it may go on until October 30.

    Current standings (W-L-T):
    1. HOU 2-1-2 = 8 pts
    --------------------------------
    2. FCD 2-1-2 = 8 pts
    3. AUS 1-3-0 = 3 pts

    Remaining games:
    10/24/21 - Austin v. Houston
    10/30/21 - Dallas v. Austin

With a win at Austin on Sunday Houston can clinch the trophy since they own the tie-breaker head to head with Dallas having a win and two draws against them.

A draw or Austin win would mean the competition would go down to the final game a week later.

    COPA TEJAS - DIVISION 2
This is for the USL Championship teams in Texas.

    Current Standings (W-L-T):
    1. ELP 6-2-2 = 20 pts
    ---------------------------------
    2. AUB 3-3-4 = 13 pts
    3. SAN 3-5-3 = 12 pts
    4. RGV 2-4-5 = 11 pts

    Remaining games:
    10/20/21 - El Paso v. Austin Bold
    10/23/21 - San Antonio v. Austin Bold
    10/30/21 - RGV v. El Paso

El Paso Locomotive has already clinched the title for 2021.
Austin Bold won the Copa Tejas in 2019. The teams did not compete for the title in 2020.

    COPA TEJAS - SHIELD
    Another new competition.
This is for all the pro teams in Texas including the NWSL Houston Dash. The shield goes to the team with the best PPG in league games for the year.

    Current Standings
    1. ELP 29 g.p. 58 pts = 2.00 PPG
    ---------------------------------------------------
    2. SAN 29 g.p. 48 pts = 1.65
    3. DASH 23 g.p. 32 pts = 1.39
    4. AUB 29 g.p. 40 pts = 1.37
    5. RGV 29 g.p. 38 pts = 1.31
    6. HOU 30 g.p. 30 pts = 1.00
    7. FCD 29 g.p. 28 pts = 0.96
    8. AUS 29 g.p. 25 pts - 0.86

There are still games to be played but El Paso has also clinched this competition.

One small silver lining in a terrible year of Dynamo soccer. I'll take it.

My sentiments as well. Good to witness El Capitan back in H-Town!

i get this thread is about texas, but have we ever considered a tournament with the neighboring mexican states? you would have the 3 MLS squads, the 4 USL teams (the copa texas part), and then there are Juarez, Tigres, and Monterrey in Liga MX, Raya2, UAT, and Tampico Madero in Expansion. plus the MLS reserve teams if you wanted. it would obviously favor the established MX teams but i am curious how we'd stack up with Juarez and their minor leaguers. and it just feels like a cluster not getting taken full advantage of. Locomotive and Juarez play because common owners. we sometimes play rayados friendlies, maybe tigres in CCL. just feels like you could run with it a little and both sides would benefit from mutual exposure.
