When you laugh at bolivar fail, you laugh at bolivia fail. Bolivar is the best we got, NO OTHER TEAM could do better. Hell, that is why they are dominating in the league right now, and will keep dominating. They are in a tough group, with 3 very good teams. Nothing else can be said. Alianza is a incredibgle team with their shocking result over Estudiantes beating the snot out of them, taking away a win in la paz, and Estudiantes is like as said, the best club of south america until the next copa libertadores champs. Juan Aurich is a very good team too that will give a run for Estudiantes money for the second place in the group. This is no lie, say what you will, but if you watch the games of the group, youd see how hard bolivia have it, not to mention how terrible Da Rosa is, yet keeps getting playing time over Cardozo or Gonzaga, or anyone that is better, heck even Gab' Rios.
I think if Da rosa and Reyes would have been subbed out at the half. Bolivar would have had the middle covered better. i mean lito tried but he was obviously tired. Only if da Rosa played a whole game like he does the last 5 min of the 1st ... Apart from Arias who was Awesome, Iturralde and Rivero were also holding it down. great but great back and a keeper aren't enough
Da rosa was a turnover machine, and played too slow(he is a generic bolivian player...even though ironically hes brasilian, cant play the game fast or on a 1 touch fast style of play). Charles beyond Arias and Itturalde and Rivero were our best players. Charles for our offense. Beyond that nothing. He really is something great with the ball at his feet, and abilitty to turn and move in little to no space. I really would have liked to see Rios in instead of Rios, and Valverde instead of Lito' who is just crap for me outside bolivia.
ok there should be no excuses for this type of games...2-0 doesn not reflect the game at ALL..this should ended in a 5-0 thing if it werent for estudiantes missing a LOT and arias miraculous saves... MY POINTS 1- we cant hold the ball for more than a pass 2-we are so weak and slow its pathetic 3-players like da silva who think their nice but rlly suck and are slow and hog the ball instead of making the simple pass and end up losing it and blow the game need to not play 4-da rosa should just not play vaca woulda done better at least he knows how to switch the field 5-abdon is only good in la paz, clearly, regardless of the weight he gained 6-rivero and the other dude played horrible but arias cleaned up their mistakes 7-arias is god 8-lito needs to retire..his services are no longer needed 9-anderson and cardozo should start 10-we play like those americans who try play soccer b/c its fun and nothing more 11-BOLIVIAN SOCCER=PATHETIC excuse for soccer the sad thing is..this is the best team in bolivia and theyre pathetic look at the best teams in venezuela and peru..they actually play soccer and dont blow...we(BOLIVIA) really are the worst..but hey we already discussed this
weak sauce.....don't tell my Tigre brothers I spent 3 hours of my life watching that shit, they'll kick my ass
IMO Bolivar didnt play THAT bad. They held their own away from home, and tried their best to stop many chances, making the estudiantes players shoot off target or bad because of the pressure they were putting on them when they tried to attack us for the whole first half. The second half was different though, and estudiantes played better, and really put the heat on us and caused our defense to mess up. For the most part I am proud that they held it together as well as they did, sometimes moving the ball well. There was no offense though. It was as though we had no forwards, and our midfield were just kept to play on our side of the field. Our offense besides that long shot from Charles that the keeper had to hit out, there was nothing. Ferriera disappears outside of bolivia, Gonzaga didnt do much for his time on the field, and what else is thre to say?
this is about as nice as you can get...they couldnt hold the ball well..hell they couldnt even touch the ball well and they got beat to every ball physically and mentally..abdon disappears outside of bolivia as usual and anderson and arias were passable..arias A-..as i said the score reflects something totally different
I dont feel I puffed it up any, if anything I feel it is the TRUTH, and not making it too OVERLY negative.
Out of curiousity, I just looked it up and the last team in bolivia to make it out of the group stages out of the libertadores was Bolivar in 2000. 10 YEARS AGO! That should tell us something. Now that I look at it, it might be a while before we make it to the 16 teams level in the libertadores.......
If teams in Bolivia continue the futbolito touch "Crap" type futbol, then you'll never see them in the second round, regardless of talent. Ever. Bolivar played horrible. That sh1t isn't soccer. It's crap and it's old. We have great players. Wonderful players. It's almost impossible to beat an oppenent if the element of surprise isn't a variable. We fcked up every chance to do a decent counter. Our issues is not the players (for the most part), but the crap style we elect to play.
You made some points. but i disagree with you on these. . Da Silva is good.IMO. he's got the right idea in trying to get behind players. iturralde and rivero were the players among arias how made their presence known. they can't possibly cover the whole 18. When abdon made runs. there was nobody their to support defensively or to feed him the ball. we lack a natural 10 distributer. Flores and L Reyes can't be on the pitch at the same time. i'm not all displeased about this game they played a lot better than previous matches. Ovando and Cardozo should play the flanks. with an attacking mid and defensive mid. BolivianFuego was right about Lito and Alex
After sobering up after yet another dissapointment and reading these comments, especially the ones I noted above, I came to a conclusion and my bad if it has already been said and/or if it doesn't make sense at all but this is my 2 centavos... Bolivar's team is a really good team and you can see they are starting to get to know one another but the sad reality of it is that as long as they play in one of the worst and corrupt (if not the worst and most corrupt) leagues in South America, they will never play to their full potential and they have lots and it's showing every International game they play but after the Group Stage is over, that's it! They'll probably dominate the Bolivian League, the playoffs, and the Clausura, but with the lack of International experience, they'll be "thinking" (and for some, they'll know the truth) that they are an elite team because they are destroying the league. I may be over thinking this and being overly optimistic but I'm willing to bet that if Bolivar played International games that weren't amistosos over the course of the next 4 months, if they could play this group stage matches again, they would qualify to the next round. But unfortunately, they won't have any other important international games after this and once the year is out, some players will go and others will come in and by the time it takes them to get to know each other and "gel" well, this horrible cycle will begin again. This is why I'm pissed at the league for not giving a slot to Bolivar for not only the Libertadores but the Sudamericana. They deserved both spots and after a couple of months, they would have done much better in the Sudamericana based on what I said above and also, if the coach would have set up some international friendlies in between in other countries to prepare.
you have to understand that friendlies or anything else wont magically turn us into a good team...we have some ok players and with them come below avg players...and well the team on paper is great but as you can see we arent its althe way they play and lack of physicality and technical skill that they lack..and no soccer too slow too weak..no vision on the field..too many amateur errors.so much selfish moves.thats what i saw bolivar lack
I hear ya. We gotta get rid of that futbolito shit. But this club is talented . . . the down side is they won't get any better because they won't play any more international important games. I don't know about selfish moves (I thought in some plays, they should have ********ing gone forward instead of passing back all the ********ing time) but I know the skill is there, just not enough practice with a good team to improve on it.
Most of Bolivars players, and in our league, are not as slow or weak as they seem. IT's the style we play. THInk about it. They are playing futbolito on grass. So these dudes stand there and touch the ball softly. OFCOURSE their going to have the ball easily taken from them. One can be far more aggresive with the ball on the grass then on concrete. Trust me, these dudes can rip it and move. It's our style and lack of leadership in our league. Yeah, we may lack size and over all top speed, but our issue is and foremost our style. Size and lack of speed isn't bothering Chile, Paraguay or Mexico. Those teams lack speed and size, but boy do they know how to place the ball and position.
Completly agree. We had no other good midfielder besides Charles yesterday. Cardozo would have been nice to have from the beginning and Valverde is young and quick unlike Lito. We still need a good midfielder to play with Charles, or someone to play out wide for him so he can play as the 'enganche' behind the forwards. We lack forwards too! Ferriera couldnt do shit, and really it wasnt his fault as IMO they were too scared to give him the ball cause of fear of a counter attack! We need a better forward to put next to him instead of gonzaga/da rosa. Both were no good, Gonzaga a tad bit better then Da rosa, but that was it. I wish we could let go of Da Rosa right now.... and possibly torrico too. Bot for sure are probably earning huge salaries, and for me arent worth it. Torrico has a future, but right now he isnt cut out for Bolivar. He needs to go to another team and find his form.
thats the way to play..its not always forward all the time...you need to control the game and keep possesion b/c it prevents the other team from attacking and keeps them below momentum..and with the players we had they are unable to beat estudiantes one on one yes we are that slow and weak..and mexico and chile and paraguay may not be as big as europeans but theyre strong and still pretty big and very very skillful..its not that their small but the fact that we are smaller and not very skillful(the domestic players i mean)
Regardless, Bolivar were being too scared and **********footing around with the ball, trying to hold possession, almost too scared to give it to the forwads, often instead trying to run it through the wings. Ferriera was often ready and somewhat by himself to turn it and keep going! I really was getting upset with Lito' as it was alllllll him who was refusing to run the bal lthrough middle. All I konw is we were dead from the beginning, I am happy it was just 2-0 and not like 5-0 or 6-0. Hell Alianza whooped Estudiantes worse at their house 4-0. I think we could give them a better fight, as long as Aguirre can be taken out by 2 defenders lol.
You guys really should be happy it wasn't an historic goleada. Did you guys even cross midfield, Estudiantes missed so many shots in the first half. The score was very flattering to you guys. Why doesn't Cardozo start, I thought he played great, and Da Rosa well....LOL
Da rosa is a POS. I dont want him on our team anymore, Torrico is almost getting to that level, if not for his youth. Really, Cardozo and Valverde need to be starting for Bolivar. EScobar is just in denial that he made a mistake with both.
No offense meant on this question but Why does Bolivian futbol suck so much? (as of lately especially)
I guess you are refering to us Bolivaristas . . . You didn't know?! Ready for this, you know how there are 2 groups right now right? Well the top 3 from each group goes on to play the championship round WHILE the bottom 3 from each group goes on to play the Loser where the winner of that gets Sudamericana spot 3. You know what (and this is a way to prove what I've said before of rooting for all Bolivian clubs in International play even if its la tigritas), I hope The Strongest win that group so we can have a "decent" representation in la sudamericana. . . . I'm laughing because although I'll be glad with you guys playing in the sudamericana, you can't joke on us that we weren't there because the way the Bolivian system works, you were there because you were the best loser. I still think it's BS that who they decided the 3rd spot for la sudamericana should be determine. With that being said, I hope you guys make it.
