    Ca

I would have given Jared a brake
    Rafael Garcia doesn't belong
    neither does Israel Lopez

    Rafael "Chikis" Garcia

Top 5 in this team =

Jared- just when you think he's crap he comes up big
    Carlos Salcido- A budding star
Jose de Jesus Corona- Is running a good streak
    Omar Bravo- If healthy
El Venado- This kid gotz skillz

I would have liked to see Torrado get a chance at this tournament aswell...
not that I'm for it, but if he wants to try out Guille Franco this would have been an ok time to try him... Maybe Sergio Santana should get another call up...

My line up (and this is strictly how I would do it, I know lavolpe has his only style).

    --------------------------Corona---------------------------------
    --------------------------Osorio--------------------------------
    ---------------------Maza--------Salcido----------------------------
    ----------Altamirano--------------------------Pineda--------------
    ------------------------Sinha------Lucho--------------------------
    Loquito-------------------------------------------------------Medina
    ---------------------Bravo------------------------------------------------------------------------------Jared---------------------------------------

If Ismael gets a chance to play, I think he will make a left back as good as Pineda, and can play better defense.

I'm glad to see Aaron Padilla, the most consistent forward in the list.

I'm surprised to see Carlos Adrian Morales, to say the truth, but well, we already know that Lozano and Ramoncito can play that part so it's time to check other options.

It's weird to see Osorno, Medina and Bravo all together when they are supposed to not-fit Lavolpe's system... the 2 forwards play "one behind the striker" not coming from the sides... at least Osorno is not going to get in the way of the good players if he stays near the line :p

Yea! in my opinion, he was the best in that position during Clausura 2005!!! I really want him to start in Germany! Lavolpe called him up for every game up to Copa Oro 2003. Does anyone know if there was a conflict between the two or something of that matter? This guy is good!!!

O by the way "Cabrito", thats exactly the formation I was thinking of! Two extremos like Loquito & Medina and center forward like Borgetti... one word... wow...!!!

the only forward that's really proven himself on the national team is jared

hopefully bravo, marquez lugo, padilla, and juan pablo garcia see a lot of action

Thats what is so weird about this. He calls a lot of fowards, but also calls Jared, so you know that he will be in the game the whole time. I cannot see Jared not starting 5 out of the 6 games in the Gold Cup.

And Salcido? His legs are going to fall off. Cant we just give this guy a rest?

I was watching tv and on one of those sports show (forgot the name), they said that the reason why LaVolpe called so many of the better players is that the winner of this tournament goes to the next Confederations Cup. But isnt there another Gold Cup before the next Confed Cup? They changed the Confed to 4 years from now on so the next one is on 2009 and the Gold Cup is every 2, so it would be 2007. Anyone know how this works?

Lots of forwards... Personally I would take out Osorno and bring in either Castro or Rojas from America. I would also replace that damn chiquis with someone like Manuel Sol. He played a damn good Libertadores and I would definately honor him with a call up to copa oro.

maybe he wants to see who partner's up best with him, or something. im not sure about that, but you make a good point.

har, i was thinking the exact same thing. especially after flying to guadalajara and playing for chivas. isnt the tournement in like a week? he definately needs some time to rest. and it looks like there's not much in terms of depth for defenders (on the roster)

im not exactly sure how it works

if that's not the reason, though, maybe it's to keep momentum, especially since mexico has the media's attention. it wouldnt look too great if we lost in the semis or something.

I think you're right, the winner of the gold cup that is played before the Conf. cup is the one that goes. Not on this one.

Yup. He's good. Alberto Medina and him remind me of the young Cabrito Arellano at World Cup 98. Loquito can also finish really well too.

    1. With the exception of Luis Perez, the midfield sucks. Sucks balls.

    2. I hope he doesn't stick Munoz in there as the starter. Let either Corona or Ochoa show what they can do in an international tournament.

    3. Why is Jared there?

I too have yet to see him play, but that's a huge compliment. I hope it's 25% true, at the very least.

"Loquito" plays very good, Im an atlas fan, so I know him well. Las season was a bad one, he didn't show him self a lot because of many missing players, but with the NT full of good players I think this guy will impress a lot of people that didn't knew him. Listen to this, I think he will be the gold boot for highest scorer.
