True, but my spidey sense/guess says the teams to beat are 1) Argentina, and then Mexico (home field advantage) and Colombia, in either order.
Um, sure. But they're still getting overrun, especially before the time I made that comment. They're in it because Paraguay haven't capitalized.
Are you insinuating that if neither team scores the teams aren't good? Those two things aren't related. I think this would still be the "group of death" regardless, because it has 4 good, evenly matched teams with the highest ELO and FIFA rankings on average, and the most group-advancers from the last World Cup (3/4).
The Dr. Joe thing is SO gimmicky. That's definitely the type of thing they shouldn't be carrying over from their NFL broadcasts.
CR opens the 2nd half more aggressively pressuring PAR in its half. Maybe it smells it can beat this PAR team
Yeah. The reason it's pointless is because the "excessive force" and "intentional" and "unnatural" type of definitions in the LOTG simply are too objective to be able to definitively say one way or the other why a certain foul was given a red or a yellow. There are exceptions that are just obvious, but for the most part, no amount of explanation will clear up the "excessive force" problem.
By the way, am I the only one who likes to listen to Stu's analysis a hell of a lot more than Twellman's? Or even Friedel, for that matter?
You're not alone, though I think Stu was better when he first started because he wasn't quite as PC. I still like him though. I think Dunseth has the most on-point analysis as far as intricate details and player perspective, but his voice is a little more grating.
