    http://www.futbolred.com/copa-ameri...a-su-participacion-en-la-copa-america/8450646

I think the vicepresident of the CONMEBOL is right. If you cannot or don't want to participate, just say. It's not an obligation. But if you are going to participate, please come with your strongest squad, otherwise you disrespect the fans who love to watch this wonderful event. And it goes to all the NT's which will take place. I hate that since 1997, most of the teams don't send their strongest squads.

I am not finding the official site that helpful. For example they are saying here is 81 days to go to the start - or they did as recently as a couple of days ago! Where are these official squads and shirt numbers?

I'd also read the squads were meant to be named by the 27th, but now the media here are saying the deadline is on the 29th.

    Anyway, Tabárez confirmed Uruguay's squad tonight;

    Fernando Muslera (Lazio, Italy)
    Juan Castillo (Colo Colo, Chile)
    Martín Silva (Defensor Sporting, Uruguay)

    Diego Lugano (Fenerbahce, Turkey)
Diego Godín (Atlético de Madrid, Spain)
    Mauricio Victorino (Cruzeiro, Brazil)
    Andrés Scotti (Colo Colo, Chile)
    Maximiliano Pereira (Benfica, Portugal)
    Martín Cáceres (Sevilla, Spain)
    Sebastián Coates (Nacional, Uruguay)

    Egidio Arévalo Ríos (Botafogo, Brazil)
    Diego Pérez (Bologna, Italy)
Sebastián Eguren (Sporting de Gijón, Spain)
    Walter Gargano (Napoli, Brazil)
    Álvaro Pereira (Porto, Portugal)
    Nicolás Lodeiro (Ajax, Netherlands)
    Álvaro González (Lazio, Italy)
    Cristian Rodríguez (Porto, Portugal)

Diego Forlán (Atlético de Madrid, Spain)
    Luis Suárez (Liverpool, England)
    Edinson Cavani (Napoli, Italy)
    Abel Hernández (Palermo, Italy)
    Sebastián Abreu (Botafogo, Brazil)

The three players dropped from the squad were Jorge Fucile (Porto, Portugal), Gastón Ramírez (Bologna, Italy) and Sebastián Fernández (Málaga, Spain). Bit surprised about Fucile, I guess he wasn't fully recovered from his injury.

What has happened to Carini in recent years?

Carini is currently at Peñarol. He's been mostly used in his natural role as bench warmer, but he also improvised as goalkeeper a few times for them this season.

Thought he was a certainty to get 100 caps.
