Paraguay > CR or Honduras. If you find CR/Honduras to be a tricky draw than you shouldn't consider Paraguay a gimme. We won 0-1 'pidiendo tiempo' on our visit during WCQ and they tend to perform well in Copa America. Looking at past stats, Paraguay has only failed to qualify past group stage 3 x out of 13 tries. But I do think we need to bank those points in the 1st 2 matches so we can get to that 3d game without crazy pressure.

Ironically , last time in the Centenario we beat Paraguay and lost to Costa Rica.
But that was mostly due to Pekerman putting in all our subs.

I just always feel good about our chances against Paraguay. And they are going through a really tough time. Their media and fans were really down on them our last match. I think their mentality is about as low as it is going to be.

The other teams are tricky because their managers know our style and our futbol. Not saying they are better than Paraguay but it presents different challenges. Especially if It is Honduras cause their fans will show up and you know Rueda will have them prepared. But of course we should win.

This was expected but Brazil's medical staff verified that Neymar won't recover in time for the Copa America. This is relevant when you consider how we will face them in the group stage and how we could run into them in the semis.

You think that with how our mentality is that we can secure victory against Brazil and make it to the final from our side?

I think we can beat them but we may just need a point with it being the last game of the Group stage. We shall see how it goes.
Hopefully we are healthy and in good form. A lot can happen between now and the summer.

As I said in the Colombia national team thread, this is a very golden chance for us to shift the balance in South America and actually dominate. There's a good mentality in Colombian football now and the players know it. They play to win and not settle.

I think you're high because everyone here from what I've seen have always prioritized Colombia; some of us look to other national teams as neutrals if we're not playing like the US, Israel, etc. or nations who would beat a country that we don't want to see win.

Well we have a on and off relationship with Argentine folk; I mean it's no secret that Maradona had a lot of love for us and not just because he was into drugs. And you'll be surprised how many Argentine people would support us as neutrals.

Hell my sister's new boyfriend is from Argentina and since I am the only one Colombian thanks to my father (she's full Dominican) he was excited. We got along greatly and I've always had a good relationship with those people in general.

I was just rooting for a team from the Americas to win to pause the European hegemony for a couple of years.

I do think by this point people wanted to see South America on top and it felt really nice after what that ignorant shit that Mbappe said before the world cup. It was good to remind them (Europeans) as well as the rest of the world of why we can challenge for that trophy.
