Let Copa America 2024 in the U.S. serve as a warning sign that some American stadiums are NOT worthy of holding the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The pitches haven’t been up to standards, and security in the stands remains weak. Uruguay coach Marcelo Bielsa tore into the den “of liars.” https://t.co/La2sIZ6hsb— Jose de Jesus Ortiz (@OrtizKicks) July 12, 2024 USA hosted T20 World Cup, Came up with the worse pitches ever USA hosted Copa America 2024 to prepare for the FIFA world cup 2026, came up with the worse quality stadiums for football Laughable that the richest country in the world can't even host a tournament properly https://t.co/h1BxrU217F— 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐫🇮🇳🏆🇪🇸🏆🇦🇷🏆 (@LaMasiaHive) July 13, 2024 For all CONMEBOL's failure, many on Twitter are blaming the US and are predicting the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the worst ever. On Twitter, many like bet against the US.
These people are morons. CONMEBOL chose the stadiums and were responsible for security. Many of these stadiums will not be a part of the World Cup. And the grass fields that will be placed down for the World Cup have scientists from universities trying to figure out the best technology and will be installed months before the tournament with the highest precision and techniques. Not cheap grass laid down at the last second like this Copa Tournament did.
FWIW, now both coaches for today's game have torn into the organizers: Marcelo Bielsa absolutely going in on CONMEBOL & USA for the lack of organization, logistics, security, and field conditions in #CopaAmerica amongst a few things. Brings up the US’s part in FIFA Gate. Okay, since no one here will give me credit, I will have to toot my own horn and say that I had a feeling this would be the Final a very, very long time ago. Best team on the planet with the best player vs. Hottest team on the planet that believes nothing can stop them. I hope it will be a good Final with no strange fights, disruptions or off the field crap that will take away from it. May the best team win. (Which can be either team quite frankly. It is too close to call in my book but I am sorta biased.)

I missed most of the match. Our team continued kicking its rivals it seems. At last they did well at the penalty kicks.

Due to President Biden's upcoming address on FOX, the beginning of the Copa América Final between Colombia & Argentina will air on FS1 at 8pm ET. Upon its conclusion, FOX will carry the match.— FOX Soccer (@FOXSoccer) July 14, 2024
Haha...but US deserves to be one of the 2-3 countries in the entire world to host 2 WCs. As the saying goes and data suppprts " football never needed to come her, we are happy to go there."

Kickoff of the Copa América Final between Colombia and Argentina has been delayed due to fans rushing the gates at Hard Rock Stadium pic.twitter.com/PlUyKgifys— FOX Soccer (@FOXSoccer) July 14, 2024
They're now saying the kick off is delayed until 8:30. Also, halftime is extended 10 minutes for Shakira. Extra time also applies for the final. With any luck the match will end before everyone has to go to work on Monday. Smh! But yeah... the stadium is not even half full at 7:45

If you want to know what is happening watch Univision or New York Times coverage. Fox broadcast is pretending these are minor issues. Not sure if they were told not to criticize organization of this game

For their part, Concacaf passed the buck to Conmebol "Match day ops, security, the physical running of the tournament is 100% CONMEBOL," per Concacaf. https://t.co/ItGHTNBp4x— Felipe Cárdenas (@FelipeCar) July 15, 2024 Imma be honest with you: right now, I couldn't tell you exactly who's to blame for all this. What I can tell you is that I'm now home, safe and sound... and that the security apparatus for this event utterly collapsed. This game should've been suspended. Best of luck to your team, sid
