We were very bad actually, I don't see how we can win the final right now tbh.

Struggled so much to dominate an opponent with no finishing and weak defense. Too many players in poor form, it's not just one adjustment that needs to be made...

Argentina’s mid field has been horrible all Copa. just giving away the ball and no fluidity on offense .

Canada’s finishing is horrible . , good attack, but no idea what to do in front of goal.

I'm officially calling the curse of the former world cup winner on Argentina for 2026.

They won't go out in the first round like previous winners because we can have 3 teams qualify with the new format.

But I see Argentina struggling in 2026. They won't go far beyond the group stages at all.

It's not a "curse", just the natural end of a cycle.

Yes I guess you are right. It takes a certain "maturity" to win the WC. 4 years later, that maturity is a hindrance.

France broke that "curse" last WC because they won the WC with a super young team.

Argentina won the last Copa and then the WC. Was there really a need for Messi and co. to have one last hurrah?

Ideally Argentina should have used this Copa to start the new generation post Messi, DiMaria etc. This would have helped them in 2026. But they refused to look forward and I believe they will pay the price in 2026 because of this.

You're right in what you say. And the coach is aware of that, he has implied recently that he's still calling some players out of "gratitude" with what they achieved.
The case of Messi and Di Maria is special still, there really aren't replacements ready to fill in their shoes. Like, take Dybala for instance who was left out of this squad, he's nowhere near their level despite being a good player. It's something that will take a few years, probably beyond 2026.

Absolutely legendary game for Colombia! Down to 10 men for 50+ minutes and holding Uruguay to 0. Almost getting a few goals shorthanded. Uruguay on the attack for like 30 straight minutes.

Hats off to Sanchez and Mohica...legendary showing by those guys. Whole team really.

Congrats to Colombia, they played better than us. We missed too many goal chances.

I'm certainly no expert of football, but I'm very surprised that Bielsa went full Bilardo for this tournament. I think it was a bad strategy to hit everybody with the shoe studs.

I only saw that today. It's awful that our players think they are boxers, and it's awful that families don't get protected from drunk fans.

wow, i see the argentina haters are on full force here again:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:, i get that cheering for teams that dont have 1% the success, talent or legacy that argentina has can be a little stingy, but, god, try not to be so obvious, this place was a cesspool of hate during WC 2022 against Argentina, havent you people learned anything? (spoiler: no)

Anyways, CONGRATS COLOMBIA for being a deserved finalist! You have been awesome at this Copa!!!

I think COLOMBIA has been the best team in this COPA, i love their beautiful futbol, I love James and Lucho Díaz, I love their flair, and, mostly, i love the COURAGE and DETERMINATION they showed this game. Cheers!! I want argentina to win but i wouldt mind if COLOMBIA does it, they sure deserve to win an award, and the fans are so passionate too! Truly always a pleasure that the win goes to a truly passionate fandom like it did in the 3 trophies Argentina won in the last 4 years. Real futbol loving cultures like Argentina and Colombia are always a pleasure to witness and in that sense, i think this final is the best possible one.

Also, all i see from argentinians herein ARG is that they are happy with colombia in the final, that they respect the hell out of them and think they deserve to win, and they would be happy by a Colombia win! Ill actually be happy too. Sometines when you are great and have won everything, is not that hard to cheer for other teams.:coffee:

imagine if argentina will get 1% of the respect it deserves...it will never happen, though, but we already made history and are at the top of everything, so time will put us in our deserved place.

You are actually in the final and you feel the need to post this hateful and ridiculous post??
    wow!
You guys have been the best at this Copa!! Enjoy playing against Messi and all the greats and youll probably win! Dont spew hate, its unnecesary and frankly very disrispectful to try to tarnish the legacy of GOATS that have elevated the sport and made it a global success, you should be ashamed of your post, i dont care if you are a moderator!! People here cheering for you and you with this nonsense BS try to tier down the likes of Messi, really its embarrassing.

    Be better.

This behaviour is really proper of trolls and not fans of the beautiful sport.

    Its sad, really.

Meanwhile, on sunday is the last game of the LEGEND ANGEL DI MARÍA, a phenomenal player that has given so much to futbol around the world and to our NT.

Enjoy the beauty of ANGEL DI MARIA play and LIONEL MESSI last dances with the NT- Ill cry either we win or we lose cause those two have defined my love of futbol for DECADES.

wow and respect to this legend of futbol[IMG]

At least Bielsa did not go full Sampaoli.

Cavani should be able to sympathize with Munoz. #NoMeansNo
