Oh well, lots of Messi apologies... I've heard it all. Nope, not convinced. A great club player, sure. A pitiful national team player, overall, when it really counted. He was unable to lead his team to a *single* international title. Say what you want; for me, several other players who did it, are above him.

Argentina was a just winner. Venezuela was lethargic at the start if compared to its start vs. Brazil. When it woke up, they were losing 0-1.

However, Argentina's defense does look shaky.

Wow!! 3 out of 4 quarterfinals went to penalties after a goalless draw!! Funny thing is that the team that shot 1st wound up losing!!

Brazil through. The Argentines had their best match in this tournament and arguably their best overall showing in a while.

But they were violent. They struck and hit Gabriel Jesus aplenty, early on and later on.

This is probably a watershed - Brazil still with the foundation Tite built during WCQ and a potential title on Sunday, but in need of extreme focus to build further for WCQ for 2022. Argentina may finally be coming out of its long funk as it renovates its roster and builds a new team for the future.

Deservedly so too. But Chile is good enough to come back.

Peru are better than the 5 x 0 scoreline we beat them by. They just collapsed after the 2nd goal.

Argentina x Chile should just go straight to PKs.

I predict a war. The Argentines are pissed and nobody better than the team which bested them in 2015 and in 2016 to let their frustrations out on. The Chileans will love a chance to defeat Argentina in regulation since they couldn't do that in 2015 and in 2016. If there are no red cards, I'll be shocked.

It's a no win situation for Argentina. If they lose, they lost to Chile again. If they win, they beat them when it didn't matter.

3rd place should not exist. Period.
