Sometimes its simple really. Dont score and you will lose. Just like tonight. Frustrating to watch.

    4-0. Ridicolous

Osako, WTF? That was about as daft as some of the worst blunders I have seen from goalkeepers in my 21 years of watching the game.

0-4 is far too cruel (we deserved better) but oh well.

That's a good experience for this young team. Don't forget that.

Guys the team is made of kids.
Please don't be harsh with them.
The match finished some minutes ago when Nakayama and Maeda went out.
I liked what I seen for 70 minutes and more.

0-4 is exaggerated in view of the game overall IMO.

    But it's a good learning.

    I begrudge Ueda however. :D

The barely literate people on the stands don't even know where Japan is, they don't count as people.
In the contrary DAZN (italian) commentary praised japanese youngsters a lot of times and states that the final result was too harsh for Japan.

I didn't know Ueda was one of the college guys who never played professional. He missed to score but his performance was quite good.

Brazil invited senior teams, japan sent basically olympic teams and played with u23 + 3, they asked for it, so just accept the result.

Of course Ueda disappointed, but he displayed his best ability: lurking in the penalty area, play off the defenders and finding scoring chances. He must find his scoring boots real fast.

I was happy with the line up but the the starting formation still had 1 thing bugging me: Maeda played like a right midfielder to let Kubo played a free role. Not sure it's a good idea, yes Kubo is at his best in the free role, but it also destroyed Maeda's best ability to running at the last defender with speed, he had to support defenders and holding the ball too much.

I admit Nakajima, Ueda and Tomiyasu are my hope in this tournament and they somewhat played below my expectation in this match.

    Kubo very hopeful anyway.

Nakajima good but wanted to do everything by himself tonight.

it is just missing that Qatar and Paraguay do not win any of their 2 matches and that Japan wins against the equator to start from the best two 3rd qualified. because in group A I do not see Venezuela and Peru not winning against Bolivia and we will certainly lose against Uruguay

    It's not.
They won largely thanks to Ecuador in 10 men.
Chile won against a full team with more then one gifted (young) player.
Obviously if Moriyasu will keep to sub out the like of Nakajima and Maeda (imo MVP for what he did) in the 2nd half we will lose conceding 2 or 3 goal again.

Hara and Sugioka are awful, Sugawara should be the right-back, Nakayama the left-back and Mitsuki Saito the defensive midfielder. But we will see some evolution, since this team have been training together for only 4 days, while the other teams have been training for 3 weeks, and there is also the huge time zone difference.

In the end though, that's' a good experience for those players, they now need to play in Europe to grow further.

Not the best team Japan has to offer, but still embarrassing.

Nothing to say really, Chile were the better team and we still suck at finishing.

No one today is exempt from criticism today and hopefully everyone learned something as a result.

Ueda missed a lot of chances, but it’s much harder learn to get into good scoring positions than it is learn to finish. I believe that if he can improve his finishing that he can be a good player.
