Unless they start broadcasting conversations like they do with TMOs in rugby, they will still screw around on purpose with VAR. They look like sabotaging a simple process on purpose.
Yep. The CONMEBOL are no different from the Confederation of African Football as a banana republic-like football federation.
Since we can't care less about Copa America who cares about the pk but with today WWC US offside goal against Sweden this is the stupidest ever referee decision I seen. Anyway the team works, especially the defence. Itakura seemed Nakayama 2.0 but at the end he didn't make any horrible mistake. We did pretty well on our right flank while Nakajima still try the impossible on the left flank. Okazaki missed 2 times. Suarez 1 and Cavani 1. Goal scored 1 and 1. Balanced match and since we are vs one of the title contenders it's good stuff.
considering this isnt Japans strongest 11, and the defeat they had in the first match, this has been really impressive. I feel like that penalty decision will really make them want to win this game, myoshi has impressed me, reminds me a bit of bernardo silva. Bring Kubo on in the last 20 minutes and maybe just go for it, I feel, the penalty decision was ridiculous but if you notice the angle they show the refereee on the var is the most inconclusive one.
Let’s hope of improvement. Anyhow, Japan have to figure out a way to utilise corner kicks, they wasted 12 CKs against Qatar in the AC final, and it it growing more and more frustrating to the point that I almost find it irrational to expect Japan to score from a corner kick unless it is a one in a million.
btw nakajima is just something else, he really should be playing for a top club, but hey hes in qatar now so thats just how it is. Chile and Uruguay have had such a hard time with him, hes so good
I remember the zac days when kagawa and Honda would play the short corners Barcelona style trying to be creative, those days were fun
They always tackle him with a foul to stop him but the referee thought he's a tiny boy and that's why he fell.
It really sounds to me that corner kicks are becoming a lost art throughout the game. There was a time when you had 1) players who knew how to whip the right kind of dangerous ball in and 2) players who knew how to attack a ball on corner kicks (like John Terry, Nemanja Vidic, etc.). A number of tactics can be used on CKs, but I wonder if people know how to use them. Overloading the far post would be an example.
The Uruguayan duo really are that desperate to score on Japan, eh?! I guess the 4-3 friendly loss still haunts them to this day lol
Miyoshi, Miyoshi... Why did you have to try turning onto the left foot instead of hitting that first time with the right foot?
