Pathetic effort , finishing and tactical discipline from manager and players in the second half. No more Roncaglia at rightback please.

Paraguay are a pretty poor team and we end up clinging to a draw. Simply not good enough. Banega simply does not offer Masche the same level of cover as Biglia if we are to play Pastore. Otamendi and Messi were the only two as ever along with Masche that deserve any credit.

Good old Tevez, still couldn't hit the side of a barn door for Argentina.

That midfield had no presence as I mentioned earlier. Unbalanced and ineffective. Poor tactical changes from Martino. We were caught not once but three times on counters from corner kicks. You can bet Sabella would never have allowed that to happen.

That's the worrying think, Paraguay are mediocre at best yet we couldn't beat them. No need to panic as it's only the first game but I'm not optimistic about our chances of winning the tournament.

I didn't like Sabella much but for God's sake at least we could keep the other team from scoring garbage goals on us. That's what you need to win championships, not idiotic substitutions that neuter the midfield and throw strikers on for no reason.

It's just groundhog day as far as Argentina are concerned, can't take our chances, can't kill teams off, concede late goals and watch Tevez mss sitters.

If Paraguay had THAT many chances, James, Neymar and guys like Sanchez will rip this team apart like what happened to Brazil in the WC

Sabella had a clear plan even if it was only limited to one option. Martino seems to have lost his at half time or failed to instruct his players to kill the game off. That said 3-4 chances should have been tucked away and the game wrapped up early.

The referee was poor allowing Paraguay to roughhouse their way through the match. Fingers crossed it wakes the team up and they will be less rusty in the next match. Biglia for Banega/Pastore, Zaba for Roncaglia and more flexibility in changing positions between the front three as well.

How about Papita who lost every ball he touched. I think he got confused and thought he was playing for Paraguay. Hopefully this is a wake up call. Why change the defence that was playing good at the world cup? IDK I never understood the stupid choices for coaches the AFA makes. AFA "Hey this guy failed to win anything at Barcelona, but since it's Mr. Mafioso dying wish lets make him coach.

we allowed them too much room, went tit for tat when we should have closed the game off. Sabella would have put a wall, sat and countered after the lead. We were too overconfident in the second half but failed to score from at least 4 chances.

Anyway, the first half was still flawless. I am confident vs uruguay

Even Maradona would have coached better. Says a lot about Gerado. How can you not win something at Barcelona is beyond me and hopefully that doesnt happen with this team

We should still top the group. A win vs uruguay and jamaica are very likely and we will have 7 points.

i know its hard to see this now, but this team still should win 9 out of 10 games they play against any SA team. We got unlucky this time, and tata subs did suck, but the good thing is this happened now and not in quarters or semis.

    There is room for impovement

Why no Martín Demichelis or Pablo Zabaleta? Roncaglia and Otamendi sucked today.

If the team plays like this a win vs Uruguay and Jamaica are very unlikely. It sucks that the AFA is so corrupt that coaches never want to stay.

You got to wonder if the hype over Otamendi is way too far fetched. Sure he looked decent today, but definitely not worthy of being titled the best CB in Europe this season. G
