I think the jump to Portuguese div 1 was a bit ambitious considering the kid does not even know the langauge. I think he would benefit by going to a English Coca Cola League team or better yet a division 2 team. It is all about the confidence my friends and it seems like the Portuguese experiment is steering Kenny Cooper into the next Jovan Kirovski!
No doubt there is a period in which to adjust to a totally different environment. also no doubt the young man need to play more than he is...can't at this time really say much more in an open forum....just watch this space....

The point of Cooper going over there was to get some playing time, to learn a new way of playing, and to improve his technical skills, which did need improving (all my opinion). Having said that, there is no such thing as a guaranteed starter in professional football. The coach makes the decisions, and the players follow. There were no guarantees when Kenny went to Académica, and the club owes him nothing except his wages. Still it's very early. Patience people. Rome wasn't built in a day.

I don't think MLS will do this unless they get Cooper for 2 seasons, and I don't think ManU would go for that.
