Things that stand out No Memo, just because everyone else that had been previously called up got called up. But, I think Aguirre is just testing out other goalies, his starting spot is secured. Hugo Ayala sucks ass, Aldrete is too green, and Torres Nilo is interesting but I don't think he'll play. Noriega and Luna return Good to see Reyna get a shot, f'k Esqueda

meh, i'll just watch for chicharito. most on this list have no shot at world cup. -one of those 2 goalies will get 3rd slot. -efrain juarez - maybeeeee magallon -torrado -castro -chicharito -blanco thats about it. my darkhorse to make it is reyna tho, so who knows. also FU aguirre/carrillo/vidrio/whoever else for not callng up duenas or equivel. eat a dick
I like the list a lot. I know people freak when they see names of old veterans (like Braulio) but it's good way to get players who have never been called by the coach to assimilate into the coach's design. With Corona's recent woes, it looks like there will be a battle for both 2nd and 3rd keeper. I am very surprised that Sabah and Memo were not called up, but you guys do have a point he wants to see two goalies. Out of this list, I see 8-10 guys making the New Zealand list and the WC.
This is a very good domestic squad to play with. I see a handful or so of these guys on our June team.
Glad to see Reyna, interesting that Noriega gets another chance, I thought Braulio only played WCs, I'm curious to see if he plays Magallon at both CB and at LB.
great lost overall i don't know what Vasco sees in Hugo Ayala, that guy is a tronco. would have rather he called Dueñas instead great to see Noriega back on the team lots of new guys that will get their debut with El Tri: Michel, Orozco, Torres Nilo, De Nigris, and Reyna and i do agree with most that think that Mendivil should have been called instead of Esqueda
I'm not hatting, I just don't think those guys would make much a of a difference. Similar to how I think Esqueda should not be on the list, when Mendivil has done more to earn a shot.
duenas is better than any of these CBs that was called. As for Esquivel, ur prolly right, he shouldnt make the WC squad, but not to get called for a game like this is ridiculous. if he played on America or Chivas, he'd get called up 100%
The only surprise for me is Hugo Ayala... Alot of the players can play multiple positions so I think Aguirre is really looking for who will be his utility/role players for the WC squad.
Some doubts about the list. I don't know what Esqueda has done to deserve a callup. In a season where a lot of Mexicans have been scoring, to call him up seems undeserved. I'm not sold on him. Double the sentiment of Esqueda in regards to Hugo Ayala. I love people saying that he's looking for the 3rd keeper. Do you not read the news? Haven't you seen what's happening with Corona? His shot of being 2nd keeper is less than guaranteed. Right now I don't think he would make the WC squad. Aguirre may be looking for the 2 and 3rd GK spot. Mod Note Tolucafan, drop the Toluca banter and the insults or you will be infracted.
true with Corona's level having dropped and his legal problems, this could very well affect his chances of going to SA the obvious backups got called, and it's time to put them to the test
would have preferred 3-4 other guys over ayala he's really not a bad player though he reminds me of a younger maza, brainfarts but potential
Nice to see Aguilar, I think he has a good chance at that right back spot up for grabs. Also no Mendívil? Not that I think he'll make the WC squad but I thought maybe he'd be in this call. With all the friendly games scheduled I'm hoping he does get his shot.

LOL i just don't see Vasco calling up Zepeda back in 2001/'02, Zepeda was still playing at a good level but Vasco never called him up to the NT fast forward 8 years to right now w/ Zepeda being in his 30s, good chance he still won't consider him then again, stranger call ups have happened
Me too and muncheechee esqueda. Its interesting he opted for Ayala instead of Galindo. But you can see why, when theres a coaching carousel at Atlas he's the one that always starts no matter what. They must like him for his leadership and junk over football abilties.
