A very young squad...not bad a few guys included that people have been wanting to see- Memo Ochoa, Beto Medina, and Santana together with Kikin might be interesting...
finally he calls up a good set of young players. but why the hell is Rafa Garcia on there?!?! he's the only odd one out from the rest. it's great to see Alberto Medina finally get called up again. it's gonna be interesting seeing Kikin and Santana together.
horrible call-up: jesus olalde - hes on a bit of a streak but he is 30 years old, what a waste of a call-up. chiquis garcia - has lavolpe not seen how sh'tty he is playing? juan pablo rodriguez - he has choked time and time again, maybe if he plays sh'tty in these games lavolpe will stop calling him up. good call-up: memo ochoa - it wouldn't hurt for him to play in one game. aaron galindo - should show that he is ready for wcq. juan carlos medina - lets see what he has. btw, anyone see juan carlos hurtado from atlas? he reminds me of marco antonio parra; speedy and with a nice cross.
Mostly these are all good call-ups except for the guys already pointed out by Hecho and others. Also Valdez, he doesn't need to be there for this. But Lavolpe did say he would call up 2 or 3 experienced guys, to "show" the newbies the importance of playing for El Tri. So thats why he called them. It should be really interesting to see some of the guys with 0 caps or only 1 or 2. I'll be really excited if he puts out a Fonseca - Santana strike force with Medina behind them. I'm heading to the Alamo Dome on Wednesday evening so I'll get to see first hand some of these guys in person. Should be a good game, Guatemala is decent opposition, especially comparable to what we'll face in the Hex (sort of).
the last couple of lists have made me think twice about lavolpe, although there have been some names that do not make sense. Ive been wanting to see jc medina
At this point, I'm content with Kikin and Santana being there. What else can one do? The FMF wants to mess up. Where does one begin on the bad callups? Going down the list.. If you're going to keep calling up Memo, start the damn guy. I understand the theory behind this proceso garbage.. Lavolpe says this is a young experimental squad yet he continues to select his defense. Why not try out alternate "young" defenders? Why was Salcido left off this time, but Mario Mendez is still there? Bring back Mario Perez, good. "Potentially." His form has been weak for America. But that's another topic. Bring back Octavio Valdez, bad. Next. Rafael Garcia is one of the more experienced players yet he's continuously there clogging up space, serving no purpose other than to make Lavolpe's family happy. Can someone tell me exactly what good Chiquis brings to la seleccion? Maybe if it were Copa USA circa 1997 with Dooley playing for the USMNT, then okay. He had a promising career with a killer outside shot. Now? He just sucks and holds no value. Daniel Osorno is another of these mysterious perma-call ups. Oh well, he's just riding pine anyway. 5 minutes at the end of a friendly isn't going to hurt. Jesus Olalde has done what exactly? Recent form? Uh. Cuauhtemoc Blanco. But okay. Juan Pablo Rodriguez. Juan.. Pablo.. Rodriguez. Oh God.
osorno is actually starting to play pretty good now that he gets to play not like when he didnt in monterry
