I heard/read about Convey's commitment to fitness and improvement being such that he's on a special diet of some kind.

So, what are our elite athletes eating? The U-17 kids seem to like pizza, and I know too much about Mathis' fondness for Doritos, but what is Bobby doing to keep himself lean and mean?

Vegan? Zone? Atkins? South Beach? Macrobiotic?

    Slim-Fast?

Seriously, I'm curious. Anyone in the know?

NO professional athlete should be on some of the diets mentioned above. Athletes need a lot more calories, vitamins and minerals than the South Beach diet and SLIM-FAST provide.

He's a smart kid. He probably has a dietitian who helps him get all his essentials and not some fad diet.

Awhile back in "Freekick", they had an article about players and their diets. Lots of veggies and lean meats.

The kid is 19 years old! If he's anything like I was at that age, he's probably eating anything he can get his hands on and still losing weight.

Whatever he is eating, it is probably very high in protien with carbs the day before a game. I have friends who play various college sports and they all have high protien diets.

There's a Pork Chop in every bottle!

As a footballer, he should be taking in lots of carbs...one pint at a time. Ooops, forgot about the age thing (what's the drinking age in Britain?). I must be showing mine (age).

Remember: There's food value in beer, but no beer value in food.
