Convey was never a goal-scoring dynamo with DC United, but it didn't keep the Spurs from courting him and reading from signing him - so his lack of goal scoring doesn't seem to me to be a big issue.

Yeah, it would be nice if he would put one in the net now and again, but using his lack of goals as a criticism is off-base IMHO.

Now, with that said, the lack of assists does bother me.

so he's playing well, glad to see he remembers he can do that since he seems to have forgotten in the past year. Hopefully he keeps it up and unless he loses a leg i don't see why he wouldn't be able to

Just finished going through the extended highlights from these first games. An observation.
Convey has looked fast and aggressive. This may be because much of the rest of the team is clearly wondering if they could get on with the barmaids RichardL has mentioned. By comparison he's pure energy. But, he has made three really nice half field runs thus far, against, well, it's not fair to insult them because they're substantially lower level.
He's look involved and his shots are okay. He's had a couple really nice passes, one f-ing great one off a long ball from lita that Convey in full run between two men near top of the box controlled with a touch then flipped over a defender, and well-timed to kitson's run (first time shot was off, but powerful).
The announcer verdict: he's looked lively this year.
Not to imply he wasn't lively in the stands last year.
As for the newboys, Hunt doesn't look like the player to keep him off the field. If it comes down to convey or harper though, he's in trouble.

The failing part is an old Bobby. The new Bobby will keep nutmegging until he scores ...
