Continental Competitions to get major changes in 04

    1) The CAF and CWCs will merge.

    2) "Major" domestic leagues will get two representatives in the Champions League instead of one.


    I like the changes myself.

    Like the first one but not the second. Champions League should be for champions only.

    What a purist...:)

    i wonder what they mean by "major domestic leagues". South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, certainly. Tunisia? Ghana? Ivory Coast?

    Hey, I think Mozambique has a team in its league called "MDC United" which usually does pretty well. Is their league considered big-time?

    I agree, Champions League should only be for champions.

    You don't think 4th place sides should be in the "Champions" League? CAF must be trying to emulate Europe.
