the Torneo Comex Apertura contest seemed to be a success. I know some were skeptical.. but we should start thinking of next season as well. we need to see if we want to do it again? how we can improve it? It we need to go by point spread? or leave it as is.. All those who want to do it... just sign your name at the X X. ************
one thing i might suggest is that we all start hotmail accounts and also send each other our predictions.. i know one time the big soccer site couldnt be accessed and some people almost didnt get to send in thier predictions... i was suggesting starting ahotmail account and using your bigsoccer nickname... like this... rdl674bigsoccer@hotmail.com VariousStylesbigsoccer@hotmail.com etc etc etc
xThrashBoy I would have entered the Apertura contest, but I found this board after the contest had already started. And leave the contest as it is.
X Monkeyboy2000 I'm also in. I think the current format is fine. It would be cool to have a web site just for the contest. It would work like the Yahoo sports site where you can go in and put in your picks but won't be able to see other's picks until the week is closed off.
X futbol de primera I think the game is pretty good as it is. Just for the sake of change here is a suggestion. To reward the individual with the most points earned each individual Jornada, an extra point is given to that person. If there is a tie for most points in a Jornada, no extra point is given for that Jornada. Example: Jornada 3 Futbol de Primera [8]--25 Various Styles [12]--19* *includes extra point for most points earned in Jornada 3. Jornada 4 Futbol de Primera [10]--35 Various Styles [10]--29 No extra point would be given this week because we both scored 10 points in Jornada 4.
I vote against a point spread. I think it will only make the tallying of scores longer than it already is.
Half the fun of making the predictions is using Various Styles picks as something to go off of, and then trying to tweak them just so, to maximize points earned for each Jornada. On a serious note, I think some folks in the EPL forum have created a website to do just this. I clicked a link once and saw it myself. I looked like a nice site. Don't know if they had to pay $$$ to create it though. Only thing I didn't like about their game was that they had too many options of earning extra points. One was that if a person picks and exact scoreline that is 4+ goal differential in the match, they earn an extra 3 points for that match. I like to keep it simple. A site would be nice though, especially for secrecy and keeping track of the scores.
