Is it me or is Jimmy really struggling out on the pitch?

At the beginning of the season, I thought that he was the most improved player on the field. However, by the middle of the season, he seems to be slow, takes the wrong angles, and appears lost. Has he lost confidence?

With Agoos return and Eddie playing so well, I think Conrad should sit (I.e drop Ramario back).

Jimmy is playing well. His passing has improved to a point where we should all be able to see the confidance oozing out of his boots. In my opinion he is playing very consistently, we will see him score more goals, get more assists and block more shots.

Jimmy does exactly what we ask of him. I am looking forward to seeing him play alongside of Goose again.

Please make a note of the fact that not many teams attack his side, additionally when they do they are shut out very quickly.

    Perhaps it is you.

I thought Conrad did fantastic last night against the Quakes.
Chicago has fantastic, fast, skillful players and they were shutdown completely. Conrad deserves credit for that. I think he's doing just fine.

Jimmy was struggling a bit last night, but he stepped up when it counted. All in all, I would not call it a great outing for him, but he didn't allow DeMarcus to score, so I'm satisfied.

He has scored one goal against them this season but he was held scoreless last night. :D

Hmm. Who was wide open on Conrads side in the first half and struck the ball off the post? Razov. Who took out Beasley for a yellow card? Who allowed Stoichkov to get behind him at the end of the game? Who played ten yards off of Beasley?

Last game: Didn't play because of an accumlation of yellow cards.

    Two games ago: Own goal.

    Yes, it's just me...

I think you make really good points. I thought the yellow last night was totally unnecessary. You could see it coming from across the stadium.

He's made a lot of progress over the last 12 months. Maybe he's been a little over-extended without Agoos in the back lately. At any rate, I'm hoping his recent screw-ups are just a bump on the road to a great career.

I agree with you. For a young player to move around a lot, it can be difficult. Hopefully, as you said, it's just a bump in the road to a fine carrer...

The yellow for the foul on beasley was warranted.....beasley goes to goal without that foul. Conrad was trying to avoid a foul on hristo that agoos or robinson almost gave up. Your other options are Ibsen, Robinson and Corrales. Ibby can cross but can't defend, Robinson can't play outside D and he can't cross, Corrales would be the best bet but I still like keeping him available for the mids. Conrad is our best bet and he's not as bad as you make him sound.

It wouldn't suprise me....he takes this stuff in stride.....Agoos should take a page from jimmy's book in that regard, he seems to not want to talk about his boo-boo. :D

I concur. I posted something similar, might have been before the Great Wipe. I thought he actually improved a little in the last game. And I hate to say it, but I first noticed his performance drop... after he got married. Perhaps he's a bit distracted? Maybe it's temporary.

P.S. I happened to meet his mom down at the Rosebowl before the LA game. Nice lady. I should have asked her for the "scoop."

Are you implying Jimmy should try the Brazilian World Cup team method, as advocated by Big Phil?

I agree with Bajoro. He's improved a lot, but has struggled recently. I think he can become his own leading presence, but he isn't there yet. Agoos and Dayak are the real leaders in the back, and not having them in the back has hurt.

I think Mulrooney had a lot more to do with Beasley being shut down than by Conrad

And, maybe not. Remember last year with Mulrooney's own goal. I couldn't ask him anything about that, but I did tell him about the guys out in the parking lot ragging me because I wear his shirt. An own goal has to be about the most embarrassing error a soccer player can make. Even more than your pants falling off in the middle of a game.

I'd rather go buck naked through a corn field crouch first than have an own goal. It's really not that fun, especially for a defender. Even if you make 10 good tackles each game in a dozen games, the own goal still sticks out.

Whoops, just realized I had 'crouch' instead of crotch, problem being fixed . . .

Hehe. That's a great mental image huh? No matter what you do, just don't think of me buck naked. Don't visualize me buck naked. Naked. Don't think naked. Hehe. Anybody ever go to that memory expo at the Exploratorium?

Thank god he was doing it just before the crop was cut (in the way I pictured it...)! Otherwise, I would have definately had a problem!

Now, the picture of him maybe...stark naked, taking a shower...well.............

    HAHAHAH Nate....memories dear?;) (inside joke)
