You know, with all the talk about Quaranta year in and year out you think he would score more. I mean he's got someone who can get him the ball (Etcheverry) but he doesn't score as often as you would think. Neither does anyone on DC though, I guess. Maybe I am just setting the standard too high for him cause off all the hype. But I don't think he's come close to matching it.

Quaranta missed almost all of last year with injuries. In addition, the service from Etcheverry isn't what it used to be.

Qaranta may be more suited to a wide midfielder role, and not a striker.

And Im glad Im not the only one who is reminded of McHead when they watch Ching.

First of all, this "kid" was playing professionally at 16 yrs old.. Not to mention scoring 5 goals as a 16 yr old.. Last season (at age 17), his season was cut short at 11 games due to hernia surgery.. He still managed 3 goals and 4 assists in that time..

To date, he has 9 goals and 6 assists in 25 career starts..

Not to bad for an 18 yr old kid...

Give me a call when MLS will ever produce a kid with those statistics in the near future..

Am I the only one who found this odd:

Questions for Chicago Fire midfielder Chris Armas

Which celebrity would you invite to a game if you could and why?: Michael Jackson, so he could perform for my wife and I at halftime.

Okay, both Jeff and Marc have Colorado getting thumped. Given their track records this season, picking the Rapids has got to be a lock, right?

Nice prediction on the NE/LA game. Only off by 5 goals (net).

Still, might not be as far off as Bradley's prediction that APC would get ten goals this year.

Dude...lay down the crack pipe. I watched a number of Ching performances in person when he played for the Sounders. He's quality. Not Nats material, but I think he will be a solid pro in MLS.

I also found the Jacko praise very disturbing. Armas is being funny, right?

Giving me a fricken break. Santino is only 18 years old!!!! He has time to learn to play striker or midfielder. He has the physical tools. He can play any position if he is trained at that position including goalkeeper.

Ching isn't lazy and he is not known to wait in the buffet line or go to the bars after practice.

I just found the notion that Etcheverry is a good player, when he's a couple of years removed from average, to be very funny.

Yeah, everyone knows it's "wife and me," objective case.

And oh yeah, the Jacko worship was strange too. ;)

Especially when you peruse the book he listed as the last great book he read. Either Armas has a fantastic dry sense of humor, or he's one weird motherf*****.
