I can't remember, how old is the 21-year-old?

Jopking aside, Buddle offers a combination of size and skill that I don't see anywhere else on the USMNT. In some of the games I've seen, he beat the Quakes almost single handedly and showed more skill on the ball than any other big man I've seen. I'd love to see him paired with Donovan up front for a cuple of games to see what would happen.

I'd also love to see what Buddle and Donovan could do if paired up top together for a couple of games.

He's already leaped over Conor Casey as the next big striker.

Both will fight for the starting position alongside Donovan for the 2004 Olympics.

    Look out world!

how about this for attack in 2006:

    --------------Adu---Buddle
    Beasley----------Convey-----------Donovan

Yes the future is very bright for Nats......

I also have high hopes for Ed Johnson. He is very talented with all the physical tools. I hope he turns out to be more like Josh Wolff and less like Jamar Beasley.

Convey is being converted to a back and I think that's where he's going to stay. And Donovan needs to be either up front of in the middle of the field.

I, too, like the idea of Buddle and Donovan up top. They just seem like exciting players to watch. I know someone keeps posting about Twellman needing more chances, but I don't get that same feeling of excitement and anticipation with Twellman on the field as Buddle. I wish he'd have gotten more time on Saturday. He just seems to have that feel about it.

If Buddle is as explosive and skillful as everybody says he is, then him and Landon up top will create all sorts of problems for defenders. Right now, our forward teams (normally) consist of a speed forward who runs onto the ball and at the defense and the "target" forward who can play the ball in the air. If our target forward can run at defenders and make plays, that would be a huge gain.

First off, Marc Connolly is great, and it is very refreshing to have such a capable domestic journalist who clearly understands and enjoys where soccer is in this country. Secondly, Buddle is a great player. Be sure to tune in to the Crew-Galaxy game at 4:00 est on abc. Buddle will be on a national stage against the best team in MLS. Not only could this be an MLS Cup preview, but it's a chance to show abc that we are out there. Can't wait for the season, for the summer, for Earnie's MLS debut, etc.

Absolutely! This summer has the potential to rival last summer in terms of soccer excitement. We have all those players coming back to MLS (Hejduk, Moore, Stewart) which should make it a good season, Confederations Cup, a friendly against Paraguay, Gold Cup, and the U-17 World Championship's (go Freddy!). Man, it should be sweet!
