I also believe for the older generations that other factors outside of Soccer is also an underlying reason for the ire between both National Teams and I would not be surprised if younger generations follow the same ire without even knowing the underlying factors that have led to this animosity.

And Balogun scores our 2nd. Not the strongest strike but it was on target (back post) and had lucky foot placement of defender. Assisted by Christian

I'm hoping they don't decide that 2 goals is enough and bunker, they need to keep doing what is working

I'm sure our boys are very aware that GD might factor hugely when it comes to the group standings

I'm not too knowledgeable about South American soccer but is Bolivia a minnow of a soccer country in South American circles. I just ask because they mentioned earlier that the last win the US had in the Copa America was a 4-0 win against Bolivia or did, I miss hear.

Would have liked more goals, but they got the result they needed. On to the next one.

Anyone know why Julian Araujo is not with Mexico? Just not considered good enough?

I was wondering that. I thought most of their players played in Liga MX. You'd think having a player getting solid minutes for a la liga club, whose main club (Barcelona) wants to play him in the preseason would be signs of enough talent. Or is this a case of (what we've rumored in the past) of El Tri sniping dual nats to keep them out of our hands only to never play them again? (Then there is the obvious possible bias against dual nats from America)

Just like Lukaku for Belgium this Euros. Only instead of being called back by VAR, its just good goalkeeping.

kinda funny to see people in the Nats thread being forced to not hate on Gregg. The only criticism I saw that seemed valid was not subbing out Christian to save his legs a bit.

3 points for the U.S. in their opening match, which is what you always want in the group stage of any tournament. They were decent against a 5-man back line Bolivian squad, but Uruguay is a team that will make any opponent pay dearly for missing the kind of sitters that the U.S. missed today against Bolivia.

    That strike by Pulisic though,...

That strike by Pulisic is right. I wish he could have more of that in him.

Watching Panama v Uruguay I think I can safely say Bolivia is the softest team in this group. Uruguay won 3-1 but Panama gave them a run for their money until the late second half. Panama is a higher level of competition more due to the panamanians heart. They want to make the knockout rounds. Uruguay looked like they were pacing themselves a bit. They expect to make knockouts and accordingly are saving their best for then.

The field in Arlington looked and held up great it seems. They installed special grow lights. I guess they worked.

Great assist by Sosa. Pulls one back for Paraguay. Maybe he is worth more than the .$10m we offered.
