That was probably the best MLS Cup ever. The skills on display were second to none and it was affirmed that the two best teams in the league were deservedly on the field. San Jose made the most of their chances with beautiful finishes and brought home the well-deserved win. I'd love to see these two teams go at it every week. Congratulations! Topper
Word. Congratulations, that was a great game, and I'm glad someone finally beat the fire. Had Razov not choked away the PK and open net shot, it would have been even better going down to the wire at 4-4, but it was great nonetheless. Hope you enjoyed celebrating in LA's house. It must have grated them to build the best soccer stadium in the country, to host the final, only to have their rival celebrate on their pitch. D'oh.
I'm hoping that the team busses tragically run into each other head-on. Okay, I'll just say that I'll quietly hope that the Fire humiliates the Smurfs. Honestly, I think that the Fire is the better team, and it's harder to hate them without Dema and Hristo, although Ratzoff is a peckerhead. Posted: 20 Nov 2003 01:12 PM As much as we hate the Fire, we hate San Jose even more. We thank you for your support TOP you 2 faced Biatchhh
Good job San Jose. As has been posted, it was an entertaining match. I could watch the match again it was that good. The first goal was awesome.
Well, that was a great game! Two teams that totally deserved to be there! It was awesome. After the game talked to Craig and got a hug with the smell of sweat and champaign. It was nice! Glad they got it! It was the Spartan Bunny...I know it!
Perhaps the concepts of humor and sincerity are lost on you. Although I congratulate San Jose for their exciting win today, I'll be happy to watch the Galaxy stomp their guts out in '04. Does that make me two faced as well, Newbie Numbnuts? Topper
Congrats, San Jose. I only got to watch the second half, but what a half that was. If I hadn't watched MLS Cup 96 live, I'd definitely say that this was the best ever. As it is, it's still a very close second. Excellent finishing by the Quakes(including by Roner... oh, wait a sec... ). By the way, on behalf of all Revs fans, I'd like to thank you guys for finishing the job. But I gotta give some respect to Chicago - good season, if Razov hadn't decided to pull a Van de Velde... And Topper, I'm shockingly impressed by the fact that you can swallow your pride like that. Kudos to you (although I'm well aware that you'll be back to your old habits next week). As for your little newbie buddy, however, he needs some sedatives - or a swift kick to the head. Any volunteers? Anyway, once again, Congrats, San Jose. You guys earned it.
Thanks Topper! That was very kind of you. I would also like to add that your stadium is amazing! Very easy to get into and out of, and get around in. Truly how a soccer stadium should be.
Congratulations -- and a special thanks for denying Chicago the triple crown. It's still there for the taking, which should make for another, exciting season in 2004. Meanwhile, Goose has set a record not likely to be broken: 5 MLS titles.
Congrats on your win. Tell Baby Jesus that the next time he wants to taunt Section 8 to come a little closer...
Well done! Congrats to San Jose on winning yesterday. Two great teams fighting out a great final. Well done on coming out on top. San Jose proved with their comebacks against LA and Kansas City (my team!) that they had the heart of true champions. They showed a different way to win yesterday, leading from the beginning. Congrats and good luck next season. Hopefully Preki has another year in his legs to give you guys a closer run next season
It is an awesome stadium. Even though I've been to it a dozen times, when my brother and I walked up to HDC on Sunday, we were still flabbergasted that Uncle Phil built us our very own Euro-style soccer stadium in our backyard. Topper PS: I know, I know - - now if we can get a team to match the stadium..... that's NEXT year, I'm sure.
Who is this really and what have you done with topper? No insults? No hate? Nothing but love? This was a classy post, what's wrong with you?
Norman Chad - Eating Crow today? I wonder what professional soccer basher and Poker Expert (I kid you not) Norman Chad thought about this great game?
Guys, we'll take it every which way from the Topper. I will have to say thanks. We might trade barbs and smack over our teams, but overall we can set that aside and be good sports. One more reason why as much as there's the rivalry at least we can show respect and class. We still can't stand LA, but next year it will be even more competitive, spirited, and fun. 2004--may the best team win! Too bad we can't meet in a final like we did in 2001. Si Se Puede! Cheers!
Yeah, it is very hard to say, but... Congratulations. I admit that Quakes played better this year and accomplished more than I ever thought they could. I bet that in your heart of hearts most of you did not see a cup coming this year either, but that has to make it even more satisfying! Well, it takes two good teams to make a great rivalry, and the burden is clearly on us to hold up our part of the bargain and make 2004 even better and more competative. We may be down, but we're not out! See you in 2004.
Wow, thanks Top.......I almost feel bad about the hunk of booger meat I left under your season ticket seat and the fact that I pee'd on the toilet seats at HDC. On a more serious note.....$10, 24oz. Corona's ROCK! Spartan1, 24oz beer, good......3oz. beer bad.
Congratulations San Jose fans!!! Your team was the best team in MLS all year and you deserved to raise the cup one more time.
Many thumbs up! Congratulations on a great win in a fun match to watch! That was many huge steps up from last year's bunker-thon. Good quality soccer from the 2 best teams in the league.
Re: Re: Congratulations! I congratulated the victors in 2001, too. Just so there's clarity here, I am congratulating San Jose for a great final, and a good season. Landon Donovan is practically my neighbor, and though I think "Perfect Landin' " diveth too much, he is the class of the league, and a very special gift this league has. My brother and I went to the game and really enjoyed all of the action and the brilliant goals (not including the Roner boner.) So congrats again, enjoy the celebration, and I hope the Galaxy rights its ship and blows San Jose back into the A-league in '04. Topper
