    Iniesta, Puyol, Pique and Xavi can all be argued. However, I'd go with Iniesta as well. Regardless of that, their domestic players really shined tonight.

    On a similar note, I think one reason Platini might be happy with Barcelona winnning is that it's a great advert for his, Blatter to, proposed 6+5 rule. They had 6 Spanish players in the starting 11.

    I think the relative ease of Barca's game after Eto'o's goal as compared to the SF tie is down to two things:

    1. SAF got it wrong tactically;
    2. Your midfield with Essien, Ballack and Mikel was far better adapted to work as a disruptive and destructive force to Xavi and Iniesta weaving.

    Fergusons tactics were terrible. Overly defensive starting 11 and really bad judgements on the subs. He turned into steve mcClaren for the night.

    To be fair, the same tactics and line-up (minus Fletcher) worked pretty well against Arsenal.

    The starting 11 was organised but overly defensive.
    Taking Anderson off just completely opened up the middle to barcelona attacks.
    Picking giggs was purely sentimental and not based on wise tactics.

    Tevez for anderson was the critical blunder in my eyes.
    Should have been park or giggs who came off .

    Cristiano Ronaldo: "The tactics were not good, everything went wrong. We have to give credit to Barcelona, but they were a bit lucky to be here because Chelsea did not deserve to lose and no-one has mentioned that. I have to congratulate Barcelona, they were better but only the winners get talked about."

    That was their biggest mistake. Forgetting the quality difference, our teams haven't played anything alike (as far as style/tactics go) this season.

    Well, I think I made a mistake, took a little offense with the title since Ovrebo didn't ref the final. But looking through the discussions most of you haven't been sore or bitter, so if you will allow me I would like to take that back.

    I said the same thing at half-time. Giggs had no place in that game, nor did Ronaldo as a lone striker. I would have put Berbatov right up against Toure (penalty waiting to happen as Drogba showed) with Rooney behind him and Ronaldo floating around wherever he pleased... Anderson, Carrick, Scholes in midfield; Giggs supersub. WTF was Park doing starting a Champions League final? I like his usefulness as a player but his true impact was so overblown due to United romping over a crap Arsenal side.

    It was a combination of Park being a pretty decent player and Fergie believing he owed him a start. Last year Park was doing very well in the competition leading up to the final and Ferguson left him out.

    Starting him turned out to be a gamble that just didn't pay off.
