Both have been included on the PFA Premiership team of the year. They both have had amazing seasons, and we shouldn't let small downturns in form cause us to forget their vital contributions to this squad.

Great job, and let's get all of our guys on there next season! ;)

Yeah, good work by both of them to get in! Now for next season lets hope Rio and maybe some summer signings get in. ;)

Too bad this won't silence the "Timmy isn't good enough" crowd.

Congrats to Timmy on getting the keeper spot. I think he's good.

This has been a very weird season. I'm not suggesting that Ruud & Howard don't deserve their spots, but I think in other seasons there would have been more competition.
Outside of Arsenal the only players who really stood out for me are Gerrard & Lampard & Rio before the suspension. Most seasons there are a few players from less successful clubs that really stand out - Friedle, Duff & Beatie last year, Kevin Philips a few years ago, etc.

TBH, I don't think Timmy deserves that spot. Don't hound me! I think he is quality and should be our keeper for the future, but I do believe that Dean Kiely, Edwin van der Saar & Shay Given probably had superior seasons. But the man deserving this spot has to be Antti Niemi.

I think Timmy will have a better season next year. He'll have an off season to rest and get his mind ready for another run at it.

I was actually surprized to see Tim be selected as the best EPL 'keeper of the year by the PFA since he had been benched in five recent matches; but I do feel he worthy of it. I was equally glad to see he was selected.

I think so. What hurt him lately was the face that he didn't have any kind of proper offseason, not even a couple of weeks to gather himself. To handle that kind of a change in scenery as well as the level of pressure is simply stunning. I think he'll get in a bit of rest this summer, maybe play in a couple of National Team matches, and be back this fall completely rejeuvenated.

And with regards to Timmy's recent lack of results, most of the voting I believe is done around February, so mostly it was before the Porto and Man City matches.

Some may disagree, but i don't see how they can. Tim Howard has been immense this season, making the transition from the MLS to dizzy heights of the Premirship and the Champions League with ease. He hasn't looked out of place at all, what a goalkeeper. What a player. And Ruud? Well, his record speaks for itself. Over 100 goals in less than 3 seasons, WOW. Bring on next season, and we'll show who's the best team, won't we ARSEnal.

Here, here. Can't wait to see next season Ruud and Saha up front.

Kudos to Howard and Van Nistelrooy, let's have even more Manchester United players on the team next season.

Timmy will do better next season when Rio returns. Howard
is an example of how teams can get US players for a steal.
I don't know why more coaches don't try it, since they've
been known to blow millions of pounds on a total bust and
yet they could get a top-flight MLSer for pennies, and if he
didn't work out, well, it is almost expected.

A valid argument can be made for Howard but frankly Ruud should not have been on there. He's having an off year. Saha was far more deserving, having done the job at two clubs in the same season. Ruud got in off rep alone.

Just like for us, scum fans could argue Carr ahead of Lauren.
