Great performance by all Chicago Fire players. Especially, Demarcus, Ante, and Zach Thorton, CJ etc... I'm really impressed by Chicago. I thought that the departure of Kovalenko, Hhristo, Josh, and Peter Novak was going to affect the team badly, but it was not so. Congratulation for this win.

I thought you couldn't start a thread with a yellow card.

As far as I can tell he doesn't have a yellow card.

And thanks. I think we'll do OK this season, at least until we sell half of our players....

I'll chip in, too. I'm really impressed at the results you are getting. Putting four on the road at Spartan really makes a statement.

    Congrats.

Well done. The Quake fans were ready to skip the remainder of the season and go straight to the Cup.

No, but it should change your opinion of the chances the Quakes have this season. Even if you still believe you're the #1 team, the spread is closer than you believed today at noon.

Closer between the quakes and the rest of the west? No. I still think we are the class of our half of the table. ;)

Closer between the quakes and the Fire? Yes, I have to raise my assessment of the Fire up a few notches. You have a very good team there, as a lot of young players are showing a lot of promise.

My point was that considering some of the calls that went against the Quakes, and the absolute nightmare that is our injury situation, the final score, while frustrating, does not dampen my optimism for how this season will end up.

The Quakes still have a chance to lose to us in the finals

And it shouldn't. And if any team has been in your situation before, it's the Fire. The past couple of years we've had just about everything go against us and we always did well. Injuries, call ups, bad calls, you name it.

The Quakes still have a chance to lose to us in the finals. ;)

totally agree with the injury, bad officiating, etc assessment...Fire were bit by the injury bug in the recent past very badly, and also didn't recieve the benefit of many calls either, but I still think we win 2-1 even without the "offside" 3rd goal...and probably would've killed the clock for victory...

Doesn't mean SJ is bad, still believe they are the class of the west, but love the effort today and accept the 3 points ....well deserved if you look at the shots and possession............we did control the game...

    HEY FIRE GO.................................

  14. Congratulations Salazar! That's right! Without him and the miserable MLS fixing reffing crew, the best you scumbags could have hoped for was a draw today.

SJ had you on the ************ing ropes so the MLS brass ordered up that third goal by asking the linesman to gouge both his eyes out. What else explains the failure to call an offside that a 10 year old referee would have seen?

You Chitcago bastards were the beneficiaries of another MLS fix designed to prevent SJ from running the table out west too early in the season.

You should be ashamed to need MLS intervention to secure victories. FU Chitcago, FU!

its ok, you can't win them all. cheer up buddy, i'm sure your team will be able to score another goal now and then, and hey, you never know, maybe you'll get another win!

This game really shows the player that DMB will eventuallly become. Dave's attacking midfielder role that he placed DMB in in the earlier games has really made him more of a goal hungry player. Now that he's back in his favored Left Mid role and with that attacking frame of mind, the possibilities are endless.

Also give props to Pause for shutting down Landon's breakaway. All the boys were class though. Big congrats.

I love it when people try to get under someones skin by totally ignoring their points, taking a tiny section of one post, then ranting on and on about it. Try again, but this time go for one or two words in my post and accuse me of being a communist.

The last two Fire matches have reinforced that you can succeed in MLS with no playmaker. It's not always pretty, but results can be had. I personally still miss Nowak's runs up the gut.

T.Henry was an outside midfielder with blistering pace before Wenger converted him to striker at Arsenal. I didn't think DMB had that kind of game in him, but I'm starting to think I may have underestimated him.
