Congratulation to all Metrostars fans. You really deserve a good stadium. I was at Giant Stadium last night before 41,000 fans and i really enjoyed this game. I want to see you stepping into your new 25,000 seats facility in a year and a half. This is good for the league, this is great for soccer in NY and NJ and this is great for the kids of America. With announcement like this one, i can only say, Go MLS, Go Metrostars. Who is next?
this is great news .... I especially loved emailing the story to friends who say MLS is one its last leg. It's here forever people, and stuff like this is the reason why. I've seen HDC (when the Quakes won the Cup. YES!) and if this is half as nice, the people in NY/NJ are officially going to be spoiled. Hope you all enjoy it. Sincerely, A Jealous Quakes Fan (I want one too!)
also, didn't Colorado's new investor announce plans for a downtown stadium? Were those like the Metro's '30-60 days from an official announcement' or were those solid plans?
Lets not forget the congratulations to the 33,000 whom sowed up for Argentina – Colombia , a non MLS city, and no double header, in Miami. OB rocked, 60/40 crowd in favor of Colombians…and 1000 gringos ! The attendance was closer to 40,OOO.. Those darn scalpers.. Fusion2001, STILL !! the premier example of soccer QUALITY, in MLS.
Dont lose your hopes. I think that Miami will soon get a team. In fact, the should pair in with Chivas USA and not some other team. I was at the Peru-Argentina, Metro-Rapids game last night. 41k made to the game. There was a great atmosphere at the game. I love the fact that there is a great soccer community in Miami dade, NY, NJ, the whole state of California and Illinois. I think with the building of a new SSS for the Metrostars and the soon to come Frisco, MLS is finally going in the right direction. Chicago and Colorado should be next, but dont rule out Kansas City, which is also a great state for soccer.
