    Midwest, the real one.
Weather forecast looks beautiful. Royals(8-0) are out of town.

Between 25,000-30,000 for the United game, I'm impressed.

I always liked Vermeil, now I have another reason to do so.

Congrats to all in K.C. who had a hand in this. I doubted the Wizards would get anywhere near 6,000 and I was wrong. Glad to admit that one.

It is absolutely beautiful here today.

Just so you know, the Wizards and Royals will never have a home game the same day. The stadiums are about 200 yards apart, so you can imagine that and the parking situation for both would be interesting.

I believe there was one time due to a rescheduled game that the Royals played in early afternoon and the Wizards played at their normal time on the same day. But, it doesn't happen as a rule.

Props to the Wizards staff for getting 6k. They got a bad reputation for low attendance even though on the average they did pretty well, unlike San Jose I mean damn.

Geez, man. I was just trying to get that 8-0 up there. It's been at least 2-3 years since the Royals started this well. I know they avoid it at all cost, but it happens sometimes(the schedule conflict, not the good start).

If KC wins who wants to bet that Vermeil cries after the game? I'll bet that he would cry even if they lose.

    1) I have no idea where Bob Luder came up with that 25-30k number. I was out at Arrowhead and the staff is expecting "over 20,000", and they "hope to break the record". The weather is, however, perfect for a great walk-up crowd.

I had mentioned the "24,000" number that's been bandied about here for a couple of weeks, and nobody in the Wizards office new where that came from. I hope Luder's right, regardless of the actual number it should be a fantastic atmosphere.

    2) The Wizards and the Royals have both played at HST the same day. It was not, however, planned in advance. I forget who had a late schedule change, maybe a Royals rain make-up, may a US Open or CONCACAF game by the Wizards, but it has happened. Mr. Hunt told me that there have only been 3 scheduled Royals/Chiefs double-dips plus two World Series induced parking nightmares over the 30 years of the complex.

    3) The Royals 8-0 start put it in very rarefied air. The Royals franchise best had been 4-0. I believe there have been fewer than 10 teams to start better than 8-0 since 1900. The only thing it convinces me of is that the team will likely not lose 100 games this year.

Yawn. Just another pessimistic attendance prediction from you.

Wizards general manager Curt Johnson announced that season ticket sales have surpassed the 6,000 mark for the first time in franchise history.

This represents a 62 percent increase over last year's final total of 3,724.

This week, Vermeil himself purchased a Wizards 'Kicks for Kids' package, leaving the club with a current season ticket total of 6,028.
