Panucci was called up to the national team today for the first time in 3 years! As much as I loved Lippi I never was able to accept the fact that he froze Panucci out of the squad because of a personal gripe they had with each other from their Inter days. Panucci has easily been one of the top defenders in Italy for years now and it's definitely great to see him back in the Azzurri!
Great news that he has returned to the Azzurri. He should of been there in the WC, but his differences with Lippi proved otherwise. With Daniele, Simone, Albert, Max and now Christian...the Roma presence is strong on the Azzurri. Too bad Il Capitano isn't there.
