i for one applaud bradley... seems the ghosts of metros past would have signed both in a heartbeat.... bradley has balls to wait it out for the right player....not simply taking someone because they played pro soccer in europe...
Well, it seems like the Bradley regime has departed from the normal Metro tactics. Instead of going though 100 players in the course of a season, he's going through 100 players in the PRE-season. Let's hope he cobbles together something resembling a full squad before April, and that it stays more or less intact all season long. Between the left side, defense, and a backup striker, we've still got a lot of holes to fill.
It's sad to not see Gio on the team. But on the bright side at least we have a coach who seems to know what he is doing.
At least it looks like Mike Magee has already proved himself during the U-20 trip to Portugal, it looks like he is gonna play behind Clint & Jamie. Good luck where ever you go Gio. At least he did get a fair chance to try and make the club again.
It would've been fun to see Gio on the Metros for nostalgia purposes, but he couldn't put the biscuit in the basket in pre-season. And from what I've read, he didn't even look dangerous. Not a big loss. Maybe he'll catch on with an A-League squad....
I found this quote amusing: "CEO Charlie Stillitano, ...said he is hopeful his company can have more international games at the stadium using "top-flight" club sides "and A-level National Teams." Doesn't "A-level" national teams mean the teams with the highest potential for hooligan violence? Right on, Charlie. Bury the Medowlands.
